this was wrote awhile back but it still works everytime it just covers the rxn you can do what you want about cleaning pilll and peeling battries..i hope this helps you guys and gals with your birch...

This has been working for Swim Shady and his partner

for quite some time now and works the same every time.

Swim & Swim Shady are not chemists by any means. They

started with a really hokey, Okie recipe and learned

"hands-on."

Start with a 2 gallon container to hold the anhydrous

(the ammonia used here is obtained from a friendly and

sympathetic farmer.) Use only enough anhydrous to

dissolve the lithium from the batteries.

Then, using the "net salt" form of the pseudo

freebase, add to the mix until the mix wont hold any

more . You can tell when the dissolved lithium will

not reduce any more pseudo when it starts to thicken

and turn the same color as if you had quenched the

reaction with dh2o. This texture and color will remain

even when stirred vigorously .

If when stirring the mixture it does return to that

deep blue color then it will still reduce some pseudo.



This way you are sure you are neither over- or

under-reducing your base and keeps the amount of trash

you get to a minimum.

Next, set this aside for 1-2 hours and let the ammonia

evaporate since you used a small amount of ammonia and

did not dilute it with H2O or solvents. It takes very

little time to evaporate. When it does evaporate add

500ml toluene (or NP of your choice) to the mix and

stir. Add about 100ml dH20 to settle the salts of

lithium and other undesireables to the bottom. Allow

to separate.

Then decant and bubble with hcl gas to make the hcl

salt of meth. Filter off the NP and place the salt

from each pull into a beaker containing acetone. You

may get 4-5 pulls from this reaction depending on

size. From each pull you might get some product when

rebubbling each pull a 2nd time. If upon bubbling it

produces a gummy, yellowish substance then you can

rest assured that you have gotten everything possible

from that particular bit of NP.

Take the container holding the salt in acetone and

pour it into a filter. A vaccum filter is the only way

to fly and you can make one yourself with a shop vac.

Anything is better than nothing.

Take the filtercake (or cakes, depending on the size

of your reaction) and spread them out to dry. When

they are dry you are just fucking the dog if you don't

recrystalize it. It's easy to follow Worlock's dual

solvent method. Swim Shady uses everclear and acetone

. Swim Shady has not yet read Placebo's H2O method

recrystalization, but if it works like his lesser cure

then I can assure you it is the bomb.

The resulting yield is from 75% to 85% after

recrystalization. The pills used were from the stick

in the mud folks at wally world (3 box limit) and

wallygreens world (no limit ,no questions asked!)
