Does anyone know if gamma-crotolactone is a precurser of ghb? Has anyone tried it?

Re: gamma-crotonolactone
Gamma-crotonolactone [2(5H)-Furanone] it is suppose to be a ghb precursor. I was just wondering if anyone knows anything about it.
