I am wondering if any of you quality de-crappers here have any ideas on why soaking

pill masses in gasoline would or would not

be a good idea to rid your stuff of binders.

not boiling in gasoline, but simple soaking, I have done this and for some reason

gasoline seems to get rid of povidone the best, followed then by the usual strate to E

an A/b ALMOST isnt neccessary before reduction. Will you smartasses please give me an explanation on what you think.

Ok, lets think about the gasoline thing. It's polar, but it has a lot of petroleum distillates too. I never really thought much about it because its so impure. Or is it? Are you talking about premium or regular unleaded? I would think that the regular would be a better choice because of fewer detergents. On the other hand, maybe its some of those synthetic, high tech detergents that are sweeping away the crap. Did you soak it just like a turps ? Soak and decant?

You know, str8 2 E with the xylene done as a separate step will yield very high quality pseudo, that IMHO (I hate the letter thing. Whats that called? I can't remember.) is equal to or better than pseudo from an A/B. (hcl, anyway)

yaes its pretty impure but, as you say its polar it still doesnt dissolve psuedo, but

my friend said that the reason why it works so well is the fact that it has anti-knock additives in it that are composed of poly-glycols, I thought by putting more of theese polyglycols into your pill mass it would be worse but no actually, the polys in the pills

are grouping up with the additives in the gasoline, leaving the psuedo more readily,

this explains toluene BOILS done with a strato E,(VESTRATETO E), the toluene has to be heated to grab up the impurities, but after soaking 337 crushed pills in gasoline

(premium or regular whatever) then doing a strate to E on them and an extra naptha rinse

because of the gas additives I got back 5 and 1 half grams of clean burning psuedo hcl

and am deciding whether or not to put it through an A/b just because for fun. It doesnt need it but I might do it anyways.

Anybody else have experience hypothetical explaination why gas is a good pre-extraction

saoking solvent?
