? about RP
A friend of SWIM said he could go to the feed store and buy jugs of liquid RP, but forgot what it was used for. Does anyone know what it's used for,the liquid part is, and what it would take to dry the stuff?

SWIM friend says that they dont sell nothing at the feed store that has RP in liquid form. what SWIKM friend must mean is iodine tincture that can be obtained in 7% strength and iodine crystals can be harvested from it. SWIM friend says the recipie is right in this forum for the extraction process at this addy: http://www.totse.com/bbs/Forum26/HTML/002238.html

Re: ? about RP
Thanks for your response, Wicked. I know about I, but this guy was talking about RP, and i've heard of it in a liquid form before, but i've never seen it. This person talked about buying it in a feed store for others in the past.

Re: ? about RP
That's something that switrd has not heard of either. And he wonders why they would have that in a feed store anyway. I'm gonna do a search for switrd here in a minute.

Re: ? about RP
There is no RP in liquid form in a feed store, especially one that would be contained in gallon jugs. The product that your friend is mistakingly referring to is actually called "Red Cell". It is sold in one gallon jugs that is basically an iron supplement, nothing more. It helps to promote the growth of new red blood cells which can in turn fight infection and disease.
I can easily see where this claim was started, as my first job was working in a feed store where I was warehouse manager. I did much of the ordering and inventory...blah, blah, blah.

Re: ? about RP
Anyone else? I'm pretty sure that the shit comes in a liquid form, and i'm sure that match strikers can't be the only place to find the shit. I've done some research on the topic, but the government has really cracked down on what info is available.

Re: ? about RP
No, red phosphorus isn't used for all that much in industry. The only reason to put phosphorus in a liquid, would be to stabalize it. Red isn't nearly as reactive as the others so there would be no need to waste time and money drying it before use. The only possible reason I can think of would be to make shaped or formed color charges for major pyrotechnic displays and thats really reaching.
Besides, lukky gave a very plausible explaination, didn't he?
