the ph of distilled H20
Can anyone tell me the ph of DH20? Is this a constant or does this fluctuate? Thanks

Re: the ph of distilled H20
Neutral.
pH 7.2
Shouldn't really change except for maybe with inaccuracies of pH strips or meters.

Re: the ph of distilled H20
ph meteres constantly need calibrating. they sell a calibrating fluid at your local greenhouse/indoor gardening center. that may be all your problem is. just a thought

Re: the ph of distilled H20
lol bill SWIM is gonna get flamed to high heaven for this but he dont care. he doesnt ph anything. he has been doing his method so long that he has a feel for it and has no need to ph. he does it all by feel and sight.
SWIM knows your thinking: "if he dont ph how does he know about the calibration fluid and calibrating ph meteres" SWIM used a ph meter when he mixed his nutrients in the water for his hydroponic setup when he used to grow weed.

Re: the ph of distilled H20
Wicked Rain, Swis is always afraid of bringing the ph down(over acid). Swis has read it's hard to over basify honey, so swis doesn't worry so much about that, but titrating to
a good ph(5-6) worries swis, got any suggestions? Thanks Rain

Re: the ph of distilled H20
I have always thought ph of deionized H2O to be 7.0 (neutral). This is because there are not any ions present to make it Basic or Acidic!

Re: the ph of distilled H20
pH = - log [H+] = - log [1 x 10-7] = -[-7] = 7

Re: the ph of distilled H20
over acidification can easily be corrected with a simple dry acetone flash after the evaporation. But remember that the more excess HCl that is added, the longer it will take to dry, and it will tend to be more of a gummy mess until further cleaned with tone. A dual solvent recrystalization should help to clean up almost any product to Regent Grade.

Listen here silly fucker:
Do you know the difference between a reagent and Regent grade???
Obviously you don't have a fuckin' clue.
Step down.

no sutt, SWIM cannot help you out, you are far to smart for SWIM. not to mention your mood changes like the wind. you go from fuck you losers to can you help me out in almost the same breath. you are unstable and very immature. a bad combination in SWIM`s experiences. you seem hell bent on reinventing the wheel where SWIM is content to use the wheel as it was invented if you get my drift.
