I think I know what an A/B extraction is through my readings, but could someone please post a good generic example of what one is so I can officially have it down pat?

im sure i typed this yesterday but im buggered if i can remember where---ok A/B extraction--being an acid/base extraction---using psuedo as the precursor being cleaned and extracted---psuedo is soluble in DISTILLED water which is an alkaline (ph6.7 i think)so disolve your psuedo in about 300ml of dist water per oz----now add sodium hydroxide to the water in small increments till the ph rises to 12.8 (no more than 13.1 as lye lock occurs)--this has turned the alkaline water to an acidic water which the psuedo is now not soluble in---as such the psuedo will kick out of the acidic water and reform into a solid and become a white layer at the top of the acidic water---thats basically your A/B extraction---now if you were going to use the psuedo for a birch (ammonia /sodium metal reduction) then a solvent would be added to the container allowing the psuedo to go into it(friends use hexane)---the water is drained off (EVERY DROP) and then the hexane/psuedo is injected into the sodium metal ammonia to be reduced---good luck
