aunty em, try putting in exactly what your after---when i first started i put in words like SOLVATED ELECTRONS or BIRCH REDUCTION or AMMONIA SODIUM METAL----these then take you to chemistry papers written by university wizards or to original chemistry books

Every once in a while university libraries and university bookstores(and colleges) sell textbooks very cheaply like a dollar a book at times.

I got two nice books at a college bookstore for $5 a piece-they were obsolete as to the courses offered, but very informative, nonetheless.

Why not just take an Organic chem class at your local Jr. College? Its hands on applicable. You might want to take a Elementry Chem course first!

I have 5 huge organic chem books that I picked up for free at the end of the semester, when students try to sell back their books and the school doesnt buy them back due to discontinuation. Students often just leave their books of no monatary value!

huh not that far away. Maybe I can take bart to San Fransico, and visit one of the colleges to see if I can get myself a few free books. I'm too young to go ot college anyways.

yeah brother, go lurk around the book stores around the end of the semesters at all the local colleges and find out if any students have left any books there that they are not buying back. There are a plethra of universities and Jr. Colleges in your area

In the mean-time, maybe take High School chemistry. Great for learning your foundation
