Swil has the honey from the reaction, and has done 2 non-polar washes........ but he has seen many different variations bout what to do next. Can anyone shed some light on what he should do next....... and how much longer is he from possible playtime? :-)

SWIL done the phos/I2 one...... and he's went as far as doing two Xylene washes, which 1 method he found said to do....... sound good so far for him?

check out rhodium --chemistry section--theyl tell you better than i can--but basically---you disolve it in water----add lighter fluid to the water--then add lye to the water--this kicks the meth into the starter fluid--drain off the water--dry the starter fluid--and then gas it www.rhodium.ws/ (http://www.rhodium.ws/)

add the lye to basify it to 12.8 min., 14 preferably...... then the naptha/coleens , then hcl to acidify again to 6.......... I think...... but he has no pH paper.... and skeered to just guess............ but too anxious not to also LOL

just add lye in small increments till you see it kick--youll be ok---your doing fine

nother newbie ?.......... Put VM&P Naptha in, for extraction of Hcl, and wound up with 2 layers, plus another very thin 3rd layer on top......... Does this sound right, or is it wrong?When lye was added, the solution became a muddy brown, and never cleared. Can you tell me where SWIL went wrong, or is it possible that he may be ok?

Okay Vic,

After the non-polar washes of the post-reaction fluid(the honey), more NP solvent should be added to make layers again. Now just dump a few spoonfulls of lye(how big was the reaction size?) until SWIV starts to see the air bubbles streaming up into the non-polar. Meth cannot be over-based so don't worry about overshooting the mark. Now add some table salt(this will help attract the hydrogen molecules, in turn freeing the freebase amines for an easy ride into the non-polar). Now seperate the NP from the basified reaction fluid. Water wash the non-polar solvent(which now holds the freebase meth-it should probably be a bit cloudy) several times. Now re-add more water(about the same amount as solvent) and add HCl by the drop. If no pH strips can be found, stop adding drops when the Non-polar layer starts to clear of some of it's cloudiness. A little excess HCl won't hurt, it will just take a few more DRY acetone rinses to clean out.

Now seperate the water layer from the NP layer, and evaporate the water. Rinse the dryed crystals with completely DRY acetone(it must be dry otherwise it will dissolve some of the meth). "Flash" the acetone in the evaporation pan like a gold miner would. When the crystals are sparkling white, and no more yellow or green tint from HCl can be seen, SWIV is done. Scrape and enjoy.

Good luck SWIV. Very close to being complete, just keep a straight head and don't get too rushed. Patience is SWIV's friend here.
