Swirl was asking about doing a a/b extraction from psue..

Adding double psuedo with toulene, mix till ph12 and bubble with Hcl till the seperation between the top (liquid) and bottom (thick white substance) hardens somewhat. filter and keep the white substance....Correct???????? swirl noticed the liquid when dried turned into crystals...What is it??? crystalized toulene??

This sound good for swirl or is any water needed here????

Oh ya, what about just swirl using the psuedo without a/b extraction....isnt steam distillation required???? never tried that...whats required???

okay if i understand what you mean im sure i do. yes you would filter the solution and keep the filteration thats after gassing process.

filteration is allowed to dry the toulene should be evaporated you can check around tho.

You may want to read some more on the topic of acid/base extraction methods. This threw me off a little:

It is unclear what double pseudo is and mixing it into toluene won't dissolve the pseudo nor will it raise the pH.

That's enough to advise a little more understanding before you waste your pseudo.

short handed my writing.....

swim adds double the volume/weight of psuedo

and shakes. Its disolved for him.....then he adds his lye to till ph level is at 12 or 13. Swim then gases with his hcl till seperation looks good enough and filters. Swim keeps the liquid(that should crystals) or keep the substance on the bottom(white substance)?????????????
