Well, he says that a 100g. cook can easily fit in a 500ml. rb flask, so perhaps it is ok to cook up a 10g. batch in a 50ml. rb flask.

The ratios look a little lean on the iodine. Remember that excess iodine is not a big deal, especially when you are trying to get a feel for the reaction. 1.5 to the pseudo is probably a better idea, with 1.2 being the low side. Also, if there is any doubt aout the % of rp in your red dust, go higher. 1.0 to the pseudo is no problem, you will be ale to recover all that is not used in the reaction when you filter the post rxn fluid.

Since you want to go 24 hrs or so, the water looks fine. The temp....hmmm.....lets see....180F=.......-32......divided by 1.8......is 82.2C. You might want to go 90C or...x1.8.......+32.....is194F.

I know there are still many who faithfully barbecue their pseudo, but there are more and more who are beginning to see just how different the final product is when the temps are kept low, the HI(aq) is in abundane, and the duration is long.

I think thats all, but Swigotta would go 1:1:1.5 with 1.0 ml. DH2O per g. pseudo temp at 85C for 48+hrs depending on his mood.
