Can one add NaOh to raise ph to Methyl alcohol without messed up by products?

Now, why do you wish to raise the pH of methyl alcohol?

Re: PH and Methyl Alcohol
Kinda just for GP cuz I thought by-products occured when you added NaOH to Methyl. And can I not extract and clean and extract into Methyl and in theory raise ph and get freebase pseudo?

Re: PH and Methyl Alcohol
FollyLover, you sound confused.
Freebase Phed/Meth is not soluble in polar solvents. It wouldn't be possible to extract with methanol.
Try re-reading the A/B process.

Re: PH and Methyl Alcohol
lucky
I thank you for your response, but what I am getting at is the salt in the alcohol, can that be extracted into the non polar by raising ph directly in the alcohol base. I am not really confused, just maybe a tad.

Re: PH and Methyl Alcohol
you can extract the psuedo from the pill mass with methyl alcohol---and in theory i spose you could raise the ph and kick it out of the methyl---but why-----why not just evaporate the methyl---------is that what your asking????

Re: PH and Methyl Alcohol
Thanks again, Kirby. Yes, I am looking for a good way to extract the good from the gaak. Can I take that as a shortcut? Or do I gotta do the hot acetone still. I know I must first do a non-polar. Is this clear enough to ask if it will work?

Re: PH and Methyl Alcohol
you do all your washing first----then your solvent(methyl) extraction--freeze that solvent--filter it---and evaporate it slowly--then do an A/B on it and your ready to reduce---and yes,you still need to do ALL your washes before methyl extraction
