The problem with people who come up with shit like that is they take a few chemistry courses and start trying to put reaction schemes together. They find something that looks like it works and say well you can put this with that and it will give this. They forget that some things just won't come off and others just won't stay on. They didn't go to class long enough to understand all of the subtle characteristics and properties of the chemical world.

Yes, people need to go get a CRC manual, it lists all the reaction energies, formation, break down, etc. Looking at these you can see that chemicals X&Y provide so many joules of energy when they break up, and chemical Z needs so many joules to form. You can also look up how many joules it takes to get the whole shebang moving. If you have the means, get a CRC manual for chemistry. its a couple thousand pages but worth the hernia of carrying the sucker. If you live near a university you can probably pick one up for less than $100 at the end of the school year, cuz some student wants more booze money.

Come on bro! Do you think ol Sutts has ever completed a real chemistry course in college?
