Re: "ghetto" style NH3
cracker, vissually swirl cant help but here we go.
In NO WAY does swim nor this web site claim that this will work.
use lots of teflon tape to joints where screwed together. jb weld quick set to all holes made into supplies ie; gas can, cooler. and use ss connections and even they will have to be replaced.
this write up can only be done because of advise and pataince of swiP, swiT and others. it will be written without pargraphs and probly alot of bad spelling and punch. so take it as it is written, MY hands are still hurting like hell from wreck.
this is new system that has been redefined in last 2 days, and it worked GREAT.
5gal gas can with a male ss plug connect screwed into the pressure relief valve w/ tape and jb on plug. Qc to 6' of hose that forms a u shape (all hoses need barbed fm hose connect at end of hose) connected to 2&1/2" ss tube(male threads on each end of tube) that goes thru top corner of cooler(48 quart) fm end of hose connected to that 12' of hose in a coil around a ss canister then into top of cannister goes coil (use male hose connect here) fm hose connect here so can connect to male at top and down about just shy of half way down cann. at top of cann. (m) hose comes out and goes to tube at bottom oppisite corner of cooler where connected by fm hose connect to tube in cooler on outside of cooler have fm hose connect then 6' of hose to evelated drying chamber (use what u want here) swims is a 5 gal bucket, put hose thru top and jb on TOP of lid only, run hose into bottom and let make 2-3 coils, wrap end of hose with clean towel. at top of lid run hose thru, jb only on top of lid again, make this 6' hose and run it to 2nd cooler (swims is 2gal water cooler, dont fuck up spout so can get np back) connect with fm hose connect to ss tube, on inside connect with fm hose connect have 6' of hose wrap around catcher and put open end of hose into catcher with clean towel wrapped around it.
this is swirl new set up, had lots of time to think while in hospital for 10 days. Not claiming that this will work for anyone so take this post as it is meant to be, just a bunch of picking on a keyboard.
if one is to dream with a girl named annie please be careful she can be very wicked to dance with.
take this post and do as one wishes but lay no claim to dreamer 46method as it author, others before have guided and advised.

Terribly sorry to hear about your accident... Hope that you are feeling better soon. Here's SWIM's setup if interested.
Elevated 5 Gallon Gas can connecting to about 8 foot of 1 inch hose in U to elevated drying tank (hose in the bottom of drying mixture of choice with screens to avoid clogging) Hose then running up and over then down precooler and thru rubber stopper into Liquid Nitrogen Condenser.
---[Pre-Cooler]Dry Ice packed PVC pipe with coiled tubing---
---[Condenser]Liquid Nitrogen Condenser consists of good quality 3 layer SS 1 quart thermos. (Readily available at your local wally world) By drilling hole into outer layer of SS at the top of thermos, Liquid N is poured into surrounding second (inner) layer of thermos but is still insulated by outer (foam) layer to minimize evaporation.---
Annie condenses on central container of super cooled SS within 1 quart (1.1 litre) Thermos. Handy for toating around and because of the nitrogen, Annie tends to stay where she belongs.
The nitrogen cuts condensing time dramatically.
As always, I do not recommend this type of storage for any kind of long haul or transport between locations. Also all parts except for the thermos need replaced on a regular basis. Tight seals and paranoia are our friends.
One Side note.... DO NOT!!! try to seal the hole where the Nitrogen is stored within the make shift condensor. You will need to refill spuratically while watching your reaction vessel (gas can). A bit of Electrical or Duc-Tape with a pin whole will work wonderfully. The great thing about this setup is that the nitrogen is so much colder and that with the proximity of the (core) of the thermas and the second layer minimize the Use of your liquid N.

Re: "ghetto" style NH3
Question: How important is a drying chamber really, is the concern that the nh3 will be diluted with water to the point of not being able to complete the reaction? It seems that if you arent using too much water in the primary reaction chamber this wouldnt be much of a problem.....

Re: "ghetto" style NH3
The reaction produces water, heat (about 180+) and annie. a drier is not necessary. i have tremendous quality without the drying tube. but use 3/8 x 1/4 inch vinyl tubing. the smaller dia. gives the gas longer to cool. be generous with the lenght between the generator and condenser. i use 6 ft (U shape)between the 2liter generator and the condenser. empty the water from the bottom of the U each time you reload.
