THEORETICALLY, I was wondering with a push/pull set-up if there are any vapors or gasses released that should be of concern to someone doing the reaction...Is the reaction one that should be done outside, or is it 100% self-contained, and able to be done indoors? I want to know what would need to be prepared for, for if there are nasty vapors/fumes, I want to know beforehand...Again, just theoretically...

balloons work wonders.

SWIM`s experience has always been that a distinct smell will come thru the balloon. not a leak either, it actually comes thru the balloon. a kind of rotten egg type smell i dont know how to describe it really. once you have smelled it you will never forget it. i call it the bad smell that smells good lol early on i thought it was a minute leak but in the years gone by have learned that it comes thru the balloon and is not indicitive of a leak as the balloon keeps growing and holds tight thru the whole rxn. when theres a leak it is impossible to get the bouncy balloon to grow super tight much less hold tight. its not so bad the neighbors will know or anything but the room you are doing it will have the smell but it disipates quickly when the cook is done. the above description is with a 2 foot piece of tubing hooked to flask nipple and balloon hooked to tubing.

it has also been SWIM`s experience that almost no smell comes thru with a p/p setup. i simply speak from my own hands on real world experiences. shrugs ... what do i know

will the fumes that are given off be either explosive and/or noxious/poisonous? i know the balloon will help, but theres much less chance of something going wrong if its thoroughly researched first, and i know what to expect in case something goes wrong...i want everything to go right, and i want to know what to expect...just so i dont end up in a bad situation...i appreciate your imput!!!!
