Re: BUGS BUGS n more of the same BUGS
It's been a few years since I have seen this problem, but I think you have mites. They are kind of like aphids and they will suck the juice out of your plants, and if it's the mother plant, you had better act fast.
You can try to get away with insecticidal soap, but if that doesn't work right away, there is one of the heavy hitters that will degrade within a couple of weeks to the point where it is safe if injested. A quick google search will probably tell you what you need to know.
BTW, this is lab tips. I believe there is a forum for this particular question.

Re: BUGS BUGS n more of the same BUGS
theres a few books on this giving tips for organic remedies---but try--5 crushed garlic cloves and 10 whole chillis boiled for one hour in water and lemon juice then left over night--filter--and spray on plants---or--go to a garden centre with a few of these little buggers in a plastic bag and see what they have to say--you may find that if your killing spiders--what the spiders eat are becoming pests--spiders do have a purpose in the enviroment--one of them is to eat the little black fuckers your complaining of---i cant advise the 12 guage remedy or the bucket of petrol remedy but they do make you feel better---good luck

Re: BUGS BUGS n more of the same BUGS
now this subject is my forte so back off everyone heh. you have spidermites my friend. you can spray insectacidal soaps and such with some success however it will have no effect on the eggs. the lil mites are safe in the egg casings from any and all insecticides except one and only one.
the only thing on this planet that will kill the eggs is called pentax. highly poisonous and toxic. you CANNOT spray it on budding plants even if they only been in bud a week you CANNOT spray them. it will carry over into the finished 8 week old buds everytime and it taste like shit not to mention its deadly. (i can vouch for the taste like shit part cuz the buds tasted just like the spray smelled when i sprayed em. the deadly part i take there word for after reading the label)the 1st time i used it i borrowed some from a friend, he gave it to me in a small pepsi bottle. when i bought my own and read the label i was like fuck FUCK. crossed my fingers and hoped for the best. the best did not come and when the buds were smoked i realized that i could still sell it and make excuse for the taste and the weed heads would still smoke it but i just couldnt do it. into the burn barrel went 2.4 pounds of killer buds. one of the hardest things i ever done yet one of the most responsible. i whimpered and moaned and wondered why the fuck did i have to be born with a conscious. there is a spray called Exclude it is available at most nursery supply houses, its made from chrysanthemum flowers. comes in a tall can with white label and says EXCLUDE in blue letters, it kills the fuckers dead. (not the eggs just the hatched mites)it can be sprayed up to 72 hours before harvest. spider mites hatch in 3 days. so say you spray on monday and kill all the live ones. eggs start hatching almost immiedatly as they are in all stages of devolpment. you should spray every 3 or 4 days to keep em at bay. you will never get rid of them but you can keep at bay enough for your plants to stay healthy and your yield will stay up there. if you let em run rampant your yield will be shit. i dont have any pentax here where i am so if you want more info on it ill grab the bottle and read the label for you. its a 110 bucks a pint and takes two ounces per two gallons of water in your sprayer. kills the mites and there eggs. only use on vegging plants.
the exclude is about 20 bucks a can can be used thru flowering up to 72 hours before harvest good luck. damn why are my answers always so long. guess i just wanna make sure you get what im saying but to me it seems simple as hell yet feels like im writing a book

Re: BUGS BUGS n more of the same BUGS
the guys above posts are great and helpfull but i cant stress enough that none of that shit will work (no offense kirby and gotta) i dealt with mites for 13 years. they are like the cockroachs of the plant world, they can survive nuclear war and a fuckin ice age. they about drove me fuckin insane.
many people will tell you many things, you will try them, they will fail. i been there done that , got the trophy and the t-shirt.
i once looked at a spidermite thru a 30x pocket microscope and i bout fell over backwards gettin away from there. i was shocked, it looked like a cross between godzilla and something from the twilight zone with huge mandibles opening and closing like giant pincers sucking the life outta the underside of the leaves. the fuckin war was on. it was give and take with the most effective battle tool being exclude. safer soap and pepper/garlic solutions and the like just seemed to make em horny and wanna fuck more and produce more eggs lol. remember this: lots of things will slow em down even kill em but NOTHING short of pentax will effect the eggs, NOTHING. thats why they are so hard to get rid of. anything you wanna kno about weed (pea plants i mean)just ask and ill try and help. good luck, you will need it

Re: BUGS BUGS n more of the same BUGS
Yes, that's what they are alright. The memory is not a fond one. So crusty they looked like they had been rolled in sugar, the very next generation looked like a scene from Invasion of the Body Snatchers. Webs everywhere. Months of work dedicated to the most beautiful indica mother I had ever seen. The bastards at HT picked a substandard cover for that month. Not an opinion, a fact.
I am very curious about the batch that immediately followed the one you sacrificed. Was it a bounty or a dud?

the next batch was a sucess as everything i sprayed that was in veg had time to leach out. hell the batch i sprayed that was in bud was a success as far as quality and yield, just that i knew it was poison cuz tasted like the smell i sprayed when i appiled the pentax

Put 10 cigarette butts in a quart of water and let sit for about 30 minutes. This water is considerably cheaper than that other stuff, and just as deadly.

Re: BUGS BUGS n more of the same BUGS
there has been good success with seven liquid. mixed into water and sprayed upon the soil. I've found that the mites are actually nesting away from the plants, so spray everywhere where they are reproducing.
hydroponics will fix this problem however, cause there isnt any soil to attract the bugs.

the mites arent attracted to the fuckin soil. they live off of sucking the juices from the underside of the leaves. they dont eat dirt DUH. it dont matter if you grow the shit in cotton candy or buffalo shit if they are in the environment then they will be on the fuckin plants. jesus christ didnt you read my fuckin post? i been fighting them bastards THIRTEEN years. is that not enough experience in the field??? some retard is gonna come along and tell me that i should crush up some ciggerette butts and soak em in water and spray that on the plants and that will work. ill say this one more fuckin time, READ MY LIPS, it dont make a fuck if you kill the hatched mites. they are unisex which means they dont need no mating process to lay eggs. the eggs hatch in 72 hours. if you have 100 mites and they lay eggs 1 hour apart for example then in 72 hours you will have hundreds of eggs hatching every hour on the hour for 100 hours and there offspring will start laying eggs till it dont take but a couple weeks to have eggs hatching every few minutes. so lets say your dumbass ciggerette butts will kill ALL the hatched adults. (which they wont) NOTHING and i mean NOTHING except pentax kills the young in there egg casings. if you dont kill the eggs you are reinfested within 24 fuckin hours to 72 hours max. so dont tell me your dumb ass recipies and bullshit cuz i been there done that, i got the trophy and the fuckin t-shirt. all you can do without pentax, all you can hope for is to keep them under control and barley at that. i speak from 20 years experience growin fuckin weed and 13 years fighting mites. LISTEN to what the fuck i say. actually there is one more way to get rid of them. my house burned down in 1996 and it burnt to the ground, and i had no more mites. if you wanna get a handle on the fuckin problem do what i say to do if you wanna fuck around then by all means spray ciggerrete butts, chile peppers, hell spray your own piss for all i care its your loss in your wallet.

Re: BUGS BUGS n more of the same BUGS
What has sort of worked for me in the past:
(1) pyrethrum bomb
(2) neem oil (water mixture) (applied with swabs around mite nests daily
(3) preditor mites
(4) wiping off the webs with swabs
(5) lady bugs
I have been hit by mites in soiless mediums before. My friend says he can deter the mites away 100% with some garlic mixture recipe he found on the net. Happy hunting my friend!

(1) pyrethrum bomb= only kills the hatched adults. works great for that yes but to keep up with the hatching of the eggs in a seriously infested garden you have to spray every 3 days. this damages the plants almost as bad as the mites.
predator mites and lady bugs work well but the garden has to be free of poisens and by the time the garden is clean enough to introduce the predators the plants are usually damaged beyond repair. the sprays and concoctions of poisons kill the lady bugs and predator mites the same as the spider mites. make sense?
garlic sprays and such have to be appyed so often that your weed will taste like that spray when harvested. who wants to smoke garlic buds? every hit will taste just like your french kissing some chick that just finished a heaping plate full of moms spaghetti sauce. get my drift?
i will say ONE more time. PENTAX is the only thing that kills the adults AND the unhatched mites in there nuclear bomb proof egg casings. end of story.
