tonight swim has been cleaning some RP and making som I2 Crystals. Both were an outstanding success. 35 grams I2. 5 Grams RP(from 400 books). Swims last attempt at rp cleaning was a 3 gram failure, but now swim has 8 gras clean beautiful RP. swim is excited. Now all he has to do is grocery shop for some chems to extract pseudo, then the fun begins.

That sounds like a lot of rp from only 400 strikers. If the stuff works, you'll have to tell us how you cleaned it.

Befor you get to excited clean again!!!! when stomach pains hurt and your ass dont wanna open for ya hmmm Could it be GLUE...

1000 covers will yeild 5 to 7 grams depending on brand. surly you made a typo. i dont think you can get 5 grams off 400 even with all the glue and glass and/or clay. soak the RP in muriatic acid for a few hours then rinse in DH2O 2 times. then put it in a beaker add 1/2 tespoon lye per 10 grams. cover RP with 4 inchs of DH20.

heat it on LOW LOW heat for 2 hours. watch it closly, if it gets to hot it tends to erupt from the beaker. DO NOT let it boil dry add DH20 if needed, keeping the RP covered to a depth of at least two inchs. rinse 5 to 6 times with DH20 and when your done you will have about as clean RP as you can get short of lab grade.

Damn, you guys rock. Well vegas, don't let this one slip by. The reaction sure will look shitty with gummy glue all in it. The hcl will loosen the grip on that glue a bit. The chem that does the most damage to glue of course is pure acetone. When you get done with the hcl as muriatic 30 some odd %, dry it out and add some acetone. As much as you can bear to part with will do. If you have the balls for it, heat it up to a gentle boil for a few minutes. Then, if you have a electric hand mixer, blast the hell out of it for 2-3 minutes. Let it settle, siphon off or decant the grey acetone and let it dry a little, then fill 'er up with DH2O and heat , hand mix, settle, siphon. Then DH2O, hand mix, settle siphon and pour into shallow dish, fan dry. Now you should have a beautiful rich deep burgandy, maybe maroon color (everybody sees color a little differently) staring back at you with a consistency of your ole lady's makeup powder.

If it was me, I'd do the acetone first, then the hcl.

Sorry wicked, I didn't read your whole post. You know vegas, I've heard of rainman speak of the lye thing before. Try that and tell me how you come out. I'm gonna call Swigotta right now and see if I can catch him before he gets all geared up, since he was bitchin about havin to do that tedious crap real soon. I'm gonna throw the ole boy a lye bone and see how that comes out.

lol no worries swigotta. you know how things are in this game. some methods work some dont. most work in the mind of the dreamer simply cuz he wants them to lol. lye is caustic and from my limited knowledge of things it makes sense that it should work. ive used RP that i didnt put thru the lye process and the final end product from the flask was just as good. however i do put it thru a vigourus acetone wash several times. i am so anal about gettimg it clean that i run it thru the lye step anyway. it seems to burn cleaner and leave less residue behind when i burn a test sample of the RP.

like i said tho it might just be a mind thing lol kinda like... well i did the extra work so it must have done what i expected. the mind is tricky that way. let me know what the big guy says but dont tell him i said it i dont want that big fucker pissed at me lol i eagerly await his response. one thing i do know for sure that if it gets to hot or the water level gets to low it WILL bubble from the flask like mount st helens lol

edit: oh and btw the muriatic and lye steps are done AFTER the acetone washs you speak of swigotta not as a replacement. i put that shit thru an acetone hell lol

Average yield from a stiker is about 5mg, so 400 strikers should give you around 2 grams.
