unless you are in texas ordering glass is not a big deal ...one word e-bay

as for getto glass you can use about any clear beer bottle wine bottle , you know what i mean.. make it clear so you can see what is going on.

hi vegas--i spoke with cheesy 3 posts down on the reaction vessels we use down here--for the birch only though--and if your in a small town --travel to get what you need--and if its being delivered make sure the parcel comes in an unmarked box without the glassware supply companies logo on it--gossip in a little town is woefull--good luck

swim uses a 250ml flask w/ rubber stopper (rubber cork w/ hole for tubing) for bubbling, but swim thinks beer bottles are bettter, as so if it breaks it is less to replace as far as money goes.

Why not use light bulbs? beer bottles are not heat resistant.

huh, light bulbs--god i love this forum--all the things i hear of that i would never think of--just actually what do you use these light bulbs for---dont you shudder at the thought of having 20 grands worth of product in such a thinned walled container--but who am i to question what my friends have never experienced--yet the fragility of the light bulb would lead me to at least try for something structurally stronger

light bulbs will handle the heat but not the internal pressures of a rxn. flasks from 250 ml to 1000 ml can be had at any beer and wine making supply shop.

nah wicked, from what ive viewed from afar--and what friends tell me--in a far west spot on ozzy island--the crystal runs at $8000 an oz--to buy it in shot glasses rather than the whole bottle is $500 a glass--20 grand was quite conservative --a good bircher can do more than two and a half oz a cook
