drying using processed rock salt
I've asked a couple of times before with no success, so I'm asking again, maybe someone who knows what I'm talking about will see this, and maybe...just maybe they'll simply explain the process, and not tell me to stop being lazy and search, which is exactly what I'm doing!
How do you prepare salt rock to be used as an effective drying agent?

Re: drying using processed rock salt
hmm--who told you to use rock salt---try epsom salts---place in baking dish and spread evenly---bake at 250c for 2 hours--now crumble to about knuckle size pieces---put about 100 grams into solvent and swirl around for a couple of mins--then let sit for 1hour--filter out--dry in hot sun for a few hours-- and use again--the solvent is now anhydrous dry solvent--and ready for use

Re: drying using processed rock salt
UTFSE is a cruel way to get your feet wet, but effective (use the fucking search engine). While I hate to flame you, your question would lead one to believe that your knowledge of chemistry, specifically meth chemistry, is just too basic to encourage you to "cook" just yet. May I encourage you to study more, much more by taking advantage of www.rhodium.ws (http://www.rhodium.ws) or the-hive.ws. Rhodium's site is absolutely the most exhaustive recreational drug resource in the history of man. The hive has a newbie section which you should find EXTREMELY helpful as well.

Re: drying using processed rock salt
the ending to what i wrote didnt make a lot of sense when i reread it--sorry--you put the epsom salts in the sun to dry it after use--not the solvent--the solvent is ready for use after the salt is filtered out--never allow any solvent contact with air for any length of time--it pull moisture out of the air and into your solvent--ive found acetone to be the worst

Neither NAPHTHA or Xylene need drying, but it ain't a bad idea. Neither solvent is delequescent, so leaving exposed to the air isn't really a problem. Thats what makes these 2, as well as wally world camp fuel (which is mostly NAPHTHA) preferred solvents.

Re: drying using processed rock salt
naptha and xylene can absorb enough water from the air or contact with moisture to mess up a gassing very badly. They may be non polar but they do absorb water and must be dried!!

Re: drying using processed rock salt
Tryp...good to see you postin'.
Smellium, So, from that one question, you presume me to be a novice on meth-synthesis?
You assume that because I wanted to "further" improve the integrity of the dryness of my reagents, I should hold-off before I "actually attempt" to cook dope? Of the very best clandestine cooks that ever lived...how many do you think had a working knowledge of drying with epsom salts? Swiss comes from a region with a strongly rooted meth history...Swiss has known the best cooks around,(though the very best are the ones you don't know about because they're smart enough not to tell anyone) dudes that are practically legends...oldschoolers...
Swiss is still young...
Swiss is one of THE VERY best around, he hates to toot his own horn, espeacially to someone who is stupid enough to make broad assumptions from one question, kind of seems like a waste of Swiss' time...

Re: drying using processed rock salt
hey straight--hope that info was what you wanted--if you dry and reuse the epsom salts--youll notice after 4 or 5 uses it begins to powder ---buy some more then--as word is it may pass through the filter though as yet that hasnt happened to me--smellium is alright straight, he gets a bit carried away with himself sometimes but his heart is in the right place--and as far as im concerned--the only dumb question is the one not asked--also--i kinda figure most of us are choosing to go against the rules of our society and so this forum gives us the chance to mix with our own--its a rare chance in our world to have the company of our true peers--peace be with you str8 and good luck in what you are aiming at

Right on! Thanks morgan, if everyone put more effort into positive thinking like that...the world would be a much better place.
