Red Devil Lye alternative needed
Hey dudes im from Australia and need an alternative for 'Red Devil Lye' to complete a specific task im involved in. This product isnt available in australia. I know it is a drain cleaner so dont start naming various cleaners unless u have a good idea it is suitable. If you know what Im doing any help is appreciated. I have attempeted this before and it did work however i cooked for too long, and i am now trying a different recipe. Cheers and thanks...

Plungers unclog a drain in a few seconds, try one of those.

Re: Red Devil Lye alternative needed
Drano, a drain claner obviously, works well for dissolving bodies but it contains metal shavings (catalyst?) so probably would not work well in making anything to be ingested.

Re: Red Devil Lye alternative needed
Needed to produce methamphetamine. I know the bulk of these recipes are rubish but still gonna try it all the same. More specificaly has anyone made this using a recipe with Red Devil Lye? And what does Red Devil Lye look like or what are some of its main ingredients so i can track down something like it in australia. Maybe it is sold here under another name, who produces it in USA?

Re: Red Devil Lye alternative needed
You're looking for NaOH, or sodium hydroxide, or caustic soda. Soapmaking suppliers often sell it.
Edit: argh, too slow.

Re: Red Devil Lye alternative needed
the recipe calls directly for red devil lye which makes me think that caustic soda is not an option otherwise it would have been listed as caustic soda- as this is very easy to obtain. has anyone used such a recipe to make methamphetamine? I have used one very similar but not with the red devil.

Re: Red Devil Lye alternative needed
Do a search in Lab Tips to confirm, if you'd like. This question has been asked and answered numerous times there.

Re: Red Devil Lye alternative needed
Clean, lab grade NaOH is incredibly easy to get. Don't bother with drain cleaners.

Right, moving to Lab Tips
[Why clog up BLTC with one that's clearly for them? ]
