34-0-0 ?
Swim had a dream that 120 - 40# bags 0f 34-0-0 could be obtained for free. Now swim needs to know if they are useable. The label reads: all purpose lawn fertilizer 34-0-0, guarantee analysis, total nitrogen(N)....34%, 34% Urea Nitrogen, derived from Urea.
Where swims roams 34-0-0 is amm. nitrate no matter how you look at it. Swim is reserching this at fert. sites as well, but would like to have the opinion of fellow dreamers. Swim has readily access to a sweet lady named annie but likes to play around to learn new and different things. Ah, the quest for that buzz,(sorry)knowledge.
Swim is about ready to try a first attempt at a nano rp-i-pdo. To live in the country as swim does were i 2% is by the gallons (swims has wasted a few learning).
But for the moment swim will keep birching.
Any thoughts on this bag of fert. will be app.
ps, pikk swims depending on you, your knowledge of birch is admired.

Re: 34-0-0 ?
Its useless. I also thought that 34-0-0 had to be amm. nitrate. a few months ago i came across 2 50 pounds sacks of the same shit. white pebbles with smaller black pebbles? well, it wont react with sodium hydroxide. i dont understand the 34-0-0 but there isnt amm. salt in the all purpose fert.

Re: 34-0-0 ?
Guess what? 34-0-0 is what ammonium nitrate would spec at but that doesn't mean that all 34-0-0 is ammonium nitrate!!
Especially when it says on the bag: "from urea nitrogen"!!
Does the quest for making meth blind people to logic and reality?
What this stuff is is urea (46-0-0) diluted with inactives down to 34-0-0, good marketing!

Re: 34-0-0 ?
And the man tyrp comes thru again, thanks for your answer tyrp. and kbk. Swim also, upon doing futher reserch today got just the same amswer. All purpose is just 46-0-0 with additives, even though not listed on data sheet because of the small amounts added.
Swim hangs head in shame as swims degree is in agriculture, (animal nutrition) not crop sciences, swim should have known better. But late on a sat. night and the puter the only reference libary able to get to, thought what the hell!
Looks like swim will have the most plush and green yard in the hood. lol

Re: 34-0-0 ?
34-00 is ammounia nitrate and ive made some badass annie from it before......all you do is add some sodium hydroxide and some h20....jus 2 cups of nh4 fert and 1 capfull of water and 2 capfulls of lye....makes anhydrous ammounia =) try it man it works.....drop some strips in it and some pills gas it then you'll have d meth

Re: 34-0-0 ?
tryp i got a ? for you since your so smart........why does 34-00 say ammounia nitrate then the %amount also the nitrogen ammount seprate....another ? lol you think 44-00 is 34-00??? lol they are totally different chemical compounds.44-00 is nothing but pure nitrogrn pellets..which has no ammounia what sooo ever...ammounia nitrate is nh4 lol then you add a proton you will get nh3 basically you only gotta take off one hydrogen molecule peace!!!!!!!!!

Re: 34-0-0 ?
pure urea is 44 or 46-0-0 depending on purity levels
pure ammonium nitrate is 34-0-0
34-0-0 that says "nitrogen as urea" or "nitrogen derived from urea" is simply urea(44%) diluted with an inactive down to 34%.
Get it now?

Re: 34-0-0 ?
Tryp is correct, and if needed swim can go to the local fert. bulk plant and pull a guaranteed analysis for urea, which is 44%.
Even though pure amm nit is 34% some companies place additives in their fert and it will percentage out to 34-0-0 and be labled "nitrogen as direved from urea" and could have 0% amm nit in the blend. As tryp has said it is just a marketing ploy.
Not bashing ya sutt just done a little reserch at the farm center today.
Swim still hangs head in shame as swim just got greedy, 120 40# bags of 34-0-0 for FREE and all swim could see was 34-0-0 and didnt read the complete analysis on the bag. Like swim has said looks like the grass will be green and plush.
Anyone want a job mowing a yard? lol

Re: 34-0-0 ?
4800 pounds of fertilizer for free? I'd help you get rid of a few bags if I lived in driving distance. I like a lush lawn.

Re: 34-0-0 ?
tryp, to bad swim is not in canda or that lush lawn could be had. Yea getting my hands on that much fert. is one of the perks of having a large farm in these parts. It will find a use. It aint eating anything and it didnt cost anything so it can sit around on a pallet for awhile.
