Default purified water?

Probably a stupid question but swim doesn't know. Can swim use purified water for DH20. The local grocery store has "purified water for steam irons and most distilled uses" on the label. OK to use or should swim shop at a different store? Many thanks

Purified and distilled are two diff. things. Go find some DH2O!!!!!!!! All kinds of gruesome little critters in water. Purified means chemicals which some bugs may be ---SHIT--- whats the word??? Like not "allergic?" {brain not working right now!!!!} to. Distilled means that the water has been brought to a certain temp. so all are dead. Or so we can only hope!!

Well I don't really know the answer to your Q, but SwiMs d-h2o says roughly the same thing 'for use with ateam irons, helps prevent limescale, etc'.

He imagines it may be the same thing, just worded differently.

Would have to agree with Capt on this one...Where Swirh is from purified and dis read to be different (least the ones Swirh has read). They may be the same...but dH2O is just to damn easy to get instead of purified...

yes purified and distilled are as different as buffalos and grasshoppers are.

purified just means its been filtered. havnt you ever seen the brita water purifier? its just a filter. that means that its pure of the things they filtered out, micro organisms blah blah blah. but its not MINERAL free which is what concerns you. a few micro organisms arent gonna cause the probs that minerals present in your H2O will cause you. get my drift?

distilling the water however is to water what pasturazation is to milk. its brought to boil in a pressure vessel the steam is piped off, allowed to recondense and drain into another vessel in its purest form. mineral and bacteria free. the minerals being heavier than the steam stay behind in the pressure vessel and of course any and all bacteria, organisims and such dont survive either. did you know that to sell bottled water legally all you have to do is filter it as long as there are no false claims on the label? it can come from your tap. when you see labels that say artesian water and shit, all that means is it came out of the ground without having to be pumped. anyways DH2O is the only way to go. do not substitute

If SWIL could find nothing else than "purified water", he certainly wouldn't lose sleep contemplating the difference between grasshoppers and buffallos. The RXN must go on!

SWIL has never had a problem with his filtered water. He has used purified well water, tap water, and dH2O. In SWIL's mind, water is water.

This will not work in all areas, SWIL realizes, however; it seems to work just fine for him.

If it comes down to the water in SWIL's reactions, I think his ass is getting a little tight. Of course, using Tap Water is absurd, but any other method of purification or cleaning should be fine. No reason to postpone a reaction over dH2O.

lol SWIM`s friend dont postpone anything. he does however make sure he has all his shit on hand before he begins. SWIM looks at it like this: at 97 cents a gallon for DH2O why fuck around with introducing variables into the rxn? no two reactions are the exact same no matter how close the procedure is followed each time as it is. introducing easily controlled variables into the rxn to me is backstepping. 99.9 % of the time most any purified water will work SWIM agrees but SWIM also knows that the one time it dont work you wont be happy. i also know that the water from SWIM`s well here would turn your ass orange if it wasnt filtered thru a rock salt filtration system that cost 2 grand. use SWIM`s water in your rxn and you will be fucked. why take the chance?

That's why SWIL said it probably won't work for everyone, but it works for him.

I seriously doubt that anyone here is running a reaction so clean, that the difference between purified and distilled water may be the cause of a failed reaction.

SWIL knows his reactions simply aren't that clean.

Wait you mean everyones dreams arent occuring in a perfect clean room and all rxn vessels are purged with inert gas after every exposure to the outside atmosphere?

SWIM knows the water straight from his tap (well) will fuck shit up SWIM KNOWS this to be a fact, KNOWS not thinks or wonders. so if SWIM has to bring in the H2O he figures why not distilled where there is NO grey area. the only way to know the H2O is fucked is gonna be in the end game which at 97 cents a gallon SWIM isnt willing to cut corners to have his end game wind up short or shitty or both. DH2O may not be mandatory but its such a small task to practise using it and one should bee all he can bee with what he has to bee with. E and RP will be always be somewhat dirty but the H2O is available to anyone and everyone in its pristine form. the one ingrediant that gos in the rxn that be certified 100% clean is the H2O

we will agree to disagree lol

SWIM wants buffalos not grasshoppers HAHA

and no frey SWIM dont use inert gases SWIM likes nothing inert. SWIM only likes gases and shit that are ert. ~shakin head, laughing~

Jesus Fuck people! I have to disagree to agree to disagree to agree!!

Lucky D is not endorsing using say city of Los Angelas' tap water in your RXN and if the grocery store ain't selling D-h2o then obviously they are out of stock temporarilly cause there is not one in the world(1st world countries)where one can not buy some!

So don't buy purified buy distilled water.

But once again, the tweeker community of cyberspace sees a walking cotradiction in its insistance of "Thou shall nots" in RXN utopia~!

Just always amusing to me when it reveals itself unto all to see and nobody really see wtf.

Course I don't cook dope so I got all the room to talk here

I too have sen mucho contaminants involved in RXNs via grimy-nasty-ass hands and handling along with non-anhydrous acetone and tap water produce some shiznits.

Hell I've seen theraflu and annie turn into some shiznit I still after 5 years still talk about to this day in disbelief!

Tweekers....to each his own.....hehe....lol!!

If the water is advertized as good for irons and other distilled purposes it is deionized in some way and is pure as distilled water. It is most likely reverse osmosis purified and this is as good as distilled. So just ask them if it is reverse osmosis if it is use it.

Last word.

I know you said last word and all but...

Think about this:

If you use pseudo from pills, there is more crap in that pristine super pure pseudo than there is in a hundred gallons of purified water.

That was exactly my point, thank you Gotta for rephrasing it.

The amount of impurities in water is rated by parts per million. Tap water around SWIL's area rates around 600 parts per million. Dirty, but not bad. Purified water rates much cleaner.

SWIL's pseudo... not even comparable. Not even the same ballpark!

Thank you all for clearing that up. Swim has done the electical work for countless reverse osmosis systems and will start utilizing his access to the unlimited supply of wet stuff. If only access to everything else was as easy. Thanks again
