Default Are these preservatives?

Ascorbic acid, malic acid.

Are either of these chemicals juice preservatives? It would be highly appreciated if anyone knew.

I'm pretty sure malic acid is, but ascorbic acid is merely vitamin c. Benzoic acid and its salts are other very common preservatives.
