Re: gakks?
Gakk is anything that the pharmaqceutical companies develop with the specific intention of undermining the successful extraction of the pseudoephedrine from the pills.
The funny thing is, most of the pills on the market can still be easily extracted. The problem is that only a percentage of the available pseudo can be recovered. Some of the most experienced lab rats out there can only get 70% of it on a consistent basis.
Another wierd thing is the stuff they put in there that is designed to use up reactants in the reduction reaction so that your final yield will be very low.
Now I am very cynical, but it seems obvious that no one really wants the use of decongestants to stop being used for the manufacture of methamphetamines, but its more like a marketing strategy to increase sales.
Think about it. How long after the dollar stores get a truck in do they run out of those white 60's with trip?
Around here, truck thurs., sold out fri. noon.
Sounds like pretty good sales to me.

Re: gakks?
You guys have it VERY easy. Over here any pfed tabs are marked with 'P' on the box, meaning only available from pharmacies, the only decongestants available from other stores have phenylphrine as the active ing.
It caused SwiM no end of hassle finding another tab to work with cos it don't make much sense to ask to see other tabs & then stand about reading the box. Still, he did find one, eventually.

Re: gakks?
Sudafed is loaded with gakk. An anhydrous ext would need to be done. MeOH is such a solvent, so it should work well.

Re: gakks?
hydroxypropyl methylcellulose,
lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, pharmaceutical glaze, poloaxmer 407. polyethyelene glycol, polyethylene oxide,
These alone cause havoc on someones stash ready to be reduces.....by inhibiting
reactions of stuff like RP.
uhhh.... what?? ?
Oh yeah the red coloring is for looks so
like when giving these pills to children
for colds or allergies the kids think they are eating skittles or some shit.
These people should be shot with a 12 guage
shotgun slug and see if it inhibits their
ability to digest food unless its like
liquid Carrots from Gerber foods inc. or
creamed Asparagus also from Gerber inc.
