Re: lighter fluid in nano
Well, I've heard of people using lighter fluid like the kind you put in your zippo. This stuff contains naptha which is used as a nonpolar solvent. A better choice would be VM&P Naptha from the hardware store. The VM&P stands for varnish makers and painters. There's nothing special about it, it's still just naptha although it could be a better grade. There are also other good nonpolar solvents at the hardware store. Toluene and xylene come to mind. Getting them at the hardware store (small ones) is cheaper and more reliable.
Well looky there. While I was writing this, homeboy put it up the right way--short and to the point. Why can't I do that?

Re: lighter fluid in nano
SWIL would like to point out that Naptha has a rather pleasant smell compared to that of xylene. Light and Sweet.
SWIL would STRONGLY suggest to stay away from boiling Naptha though. It's fumes are heavier than air, and even electric heating coils can ignite them. BEE-Ware!
For an A/B, some like to heat Naptha first before using. It will increase "pulling power". SWIL, although he agrees with the logic, doesn't agree with the method. He would rather use it cold, and have to do an extra pull, rather than risk a fire by heating it and furthermore pulling GAKK infested product.
Cold naptha and careful basing, seems to also be a way around the OrangeGakk attack!

Re: lighter fluid in nano
First hand experience with the flaming naptha, you know it pikk! Even with a fan blowing over the pot, SWIL still sustained burnt eye lashes and a badly burnt left hand, when the 8 foot tall flame ignited! Again, SWIL says, BEE-CAREFUL! Solvents are not flame friendly.
Xylene has got some real "pulling power", and SWIL never had a problem with igniting fumes when boiling either. SWIL just doesn't enjoy the really strong Ether smell.
