Is it normal for pfed to turn rubbery with the waterless A/B?
This is turning out to be one tough nut to crack!
Swim is at the final stage of evap with this method & he still don't see no pins, just gaak, although they ain't fully dry yet..
When he first added the spirits to the pill mass they immediatly turned rubbery & lost any semblance of a powder. Is this normal?
In the waterless A/B write up it suggested mineral spirit for pills with PEG but not povidone, otherwise turps was suggested. Can pure turpentine be used for Swims pills anyway?
The gram for gram NaOh/Hcl:Pill mass base, would there be any problem with a slight increase in this (since some may stay with the grinder, be lost as dust, etc.)?
This is Swims first dream with this technique & it seems a bit out of his league. So any comments/suggestions will be much appreiciated.

Excuse the bump!
Got to keep the Q up there.
Swim cannot progress until he knows whether it's normal for PM to become rubberlike.

If it turns to a rubbery mass, its not a good thing. Since Swigotta has never tried this method, he is unable to help you figure this one out.
He did tell me to tell you that when it says turpentine, it doesn't mean gum turpentine. It means its some kind of nonpolar solvent with terpenes in it. Around here its called turpatine.
You know, plain ole simple nonpolar solvent boils work pretty good. You can do about a thousand white 60's in a pint sized mason jar. Swigotta never had a smell problem doin it this way. It does take some time though.

two things come to mind
1 dmf( not dry solvents)
2 provodne( this will gel up also )

Re: Is it normal for pfed to turn rubbery with the waterless A/B?
Thanks for the replies guys. SwiM kinda gave up on this method quite a while back, since he had so many unanswered Q's about it.
However, since then he has found some NDMF pills with neither peg nor pov in them, & has had a coupla go's at curbs nano, which has led to a greater understanding of the a/b process.
He plans to return to this method since he's had to plump for the FTC, for now.
One thing he would like to know is, if the W.a/b is indeed waterless, & the pulls are NP's with the freebase in them, after adding the HCL, how does the pfed become pfed HCL- since there is no polar solvent for it to dissolve into? It just seems like the HCL floats around over the NP but is not miscible with it?
Probably a dumb Q, but if anyone knows the answer it will be appreiciated.

mas i thing VE uses freebase to do his runs but seeing how swip does not like cooking with free base he told me to tell you to just gass the freebase and n/p to get the hcl back out.
