for AM or anyone who can help.in my quest for knowledge and theoretical research i have the following questions concerning the 'ácidmelt slacker synth' (w/o condensor).

in the push/pull process is it only necessary to have a vacuum in the rxn vessel for the pull stage? ie/ bubbling gas from rp/i2 in rxn vessel through h2o and dispersing into atmosphere during first part of HI rxn.then taping balloon over tube for pull stage.

and why is the vacuum neccsary for reduction?

actually it is a lot easier to just use a ballon for the whole thing. especially if you are concerned about vapors. seal up your reaction vessel with a tube coming out of the stopper. at the end of this tube connect a balloon and tape it on there realy good. now when you cook it it will expand with gasses and then when you take it off the heat (the pull) it will suck everything out of the balloon. its a lot easier and safer this way. have fun

The "vaccuum" is not necessary. Don't worry, it doesn't do anything for the actual reaction. It only helps to tell at which stage the reaction is at.

A reaction could be done in a jar without any condensor, push/pull, balloon, etc., as long as the water level remained the same, and the precursors were ALL lab-grade. Yield wouldn't be too great, but it could be done.

Tip: Look into other synths. This one is a little out-dated, and requires previous "cooking" experience(IMHO). Try the Long And Wet. Good success rate.

yeah i agree, you should either follow my new synth or a different one for the reasons that lukky stated. it is really almost required that you at least KIND OF know what your doing. and it helps a lot to have actual experience before using the slacker synth. Also like lukky said it is an old synth. believe me it will still work great, but there are newer ways out there, that are made for ppl with no experience. have fun

After reading this thread, why would anyone be looking for "Acidmelt's Slacker Synth"(Original)? SWIL would think that this thread pointed in the direction of other synths like "The Long, Wet Reflux". This synth has a VERY high success rate.

The use of a condensor, even if it's ghetto, will help immensely. The extra time invested will prove it's worth. Check into it, and while doing so, look into a seperatory funnel.

Warlock's Cold method is another way to go. Longer and lower heat reactions are the way to go while beginning.

After some experience, pushing the lower threshold of time can be done.

I've debated on wether or not I should ask this question, because I don't want to be considered lazy or stupid or one of the other degrading "jackets" the hotshots that just happen to know were something can be found dress people with because they think for some reason saving an "underling" a bit of time would be a crime, and seem to be under the impression that making something easier for someone else somehow insults the fact that they had to "work thier poor wittle fingers plumb down to the bone".

But anyway, (been wanting to say that for a while!) Is there a place where several synths are grouped together? I'm not counting the "Speedy Drugs" opening page, where other than AM's slacker, the synths are impractical to the "working man". I know Rhodium is an excellent source, and the premiere info site, CH is down. Where can the long wet, etc. be located?

Did this much research and typing and "busting my ass" deem me worthy of a str8 answer? I would hate to make anyone who devoted so much time, energy and hard work jealous if I just asked a simple question and got a simple answer.

Ch stands for chemhead, you are correct about that. it is my site, and i started it quite a while ago. it has been down for alittle while for a few reasons but i am working on gettin us home here really quick like.

as far as where my new synth is.... well it was always on chemhead but it could be anywhere really. after i wrote the first one i only had it on chemhead and next think i know its on like 8 different sites. so i am sure that my new one is out there somewhere..... hey any of my CH bros out there got any copies of the synths that were on chemhead?

SWIL hasn't gotten out his folder in a long time, he says he'll take a peek into his archives.

Which synth? The AcidMelt Slacker (Revised)? Is that the one that uses the condensor?

SWIL says he has most of it in his room, but it's only on hard copy.

Any ideas?

I think you might be able to find some synths by going into google, doing a search on chemhead.org. whatever results you get, just try and see if google had a cached version of it.

SWIL checked his archives, no sign of the Slacker 2, only the original. SWIL realized that his copy of the slacker 2, and his first "notebook" was stolen sometime ago(along with his scale, and other unmentionables...) In his new archives, he only has newer stuff.

Curbshot's stuff works. So does NoName's. BallsofSteel's stuff is good. Anything by Geezmeister(Of course!).

Look for their write ups, they are floating around.

first of all, let me thank everyone especially lukky d for all the tips to help me along my journey for the perfect paper. hope i haven't upset anyone with my silly questions and i have done searching w/all topics and have been reading my eyeballs ragged. in the long run, should be worth it though. going to keep on trekkin though for perfection. may have a few ?'s along the way.
