Phosphorus Acid can be found on the net, but I heard they won't ship it to a residential address. It comes in a flake form. Geez has done some work in this area, find it at CH or Rhodium.

Supposedly, it is a high heat reaction though. 100 C or so.

I'm unsure as to what exactly is going on over there. Just give it some patience, and hopefully it will be back up soon.

I know that AM has been pretty busy lately though. If he stops in here, ask him.

I noticed that the CH homepage is now white with a Temporarily Down sign. Maybe this is a good sign that it will be back soon.

stillbill-- According to a very wise old geezer, don't use the liquid form even if you plan to extract it. (thats not what sutt is talking about though. Just didn't want to confuse the issue.) Can't remember why, just that it came from an authority on the subject. Instead he suggests lab grade flakes. Swigotta may have big balls, but their not big enough to get him to go to the lab supply and ask for some.

Just a few months ago phosphorus acid was approved as a fungicide and fertilizer. They make 2 or 3 brands, but I can't remember the names right now. Swigotta has spent hours upon hours on the internet searching every combination of words he can think of, but as lukky says, they won't ship the stuff. Hell, I don't know who they ship to. There is never any ordering information. He found one place that had a fertilizer mix that was high in phosphorous and contained phosphorus acid, but he can't remember where. The shorter list would be to tell ya the things I can remember. Maybe I can go and dig through Swigotta's file cabinet. (It looks a lot like his desktop)

Anyway, this same guy also said that the exothermic reaction was way overstated and his results were great. Man, no more matchbooks. Wouldn't that be great?
