This forum could kick major ass. Lets see some ass kicking start right ..... now.
Nissan Skylines kick ass. Most people know this. Most people would get an r34 gtr because it is so Fast and furious. It isnt the shit like people think. Most race cars are made from the 1989-1992 R32-gtr.
The R32 is lighter and for the price you could just buy an r34 gtr for you could have an r32 doing 10's easily.
For good advice on Skylines, ask someone that owns one, a person from japan or australia. Nobody else. Except me. I have done a lot of research.
If you have anything you want to say or ask about Nissan Skylines, ask it here.
Just so people dont ignore this, a reason to fight me:
A Nissan Skyline is the fastest car in the world. I saw it in Fast and The furious and it goes 400mph, my friend told me. I just add NAWZ and i will beat any american POS.
^I dont believe that BTW.

Why is the talk on the Skyline boards about what to do to hit 300 HP?
These cars do not seem to be all that from what I read from the people that own and modify them.

Re: Nissan Skyline Talk
alright smart ass if your such a genius please tell me which tein or tokico coilover set-up my friend should go with for his r33. i was thinking some classic tein hes but im just not sure, oh yeah, and its a gt-s, not a gt-r, so consider that. oh and if you could just tell us how to re-wire the 4-wheel steering sensors, since he just replaced them. also, which fmic mounts the most cleanly in the stock r33 bumper while makig the most colling?
oh yeah it has the four wheel steering from the gt-r cuz my friend really wanted it, he also wants the awd but its just too hard and expensive, but oh well, its a really clean install btw, but i bet youd never figure out how to do it

This is one of the questions you should ask people who actually own a skyline...i do not becuase they are not legal here yet.
Results would probably vary from car to car though.
And to the other guy who said Skylines werent all that or whatever, they are. The block is extremely strong, stock internals can hold over 500hp (depending on setup), and when they were first introduced they literally had to rewrite the rule books in racing cuz the Skyline beat every other car to shit.

thats true, and doesn't it piss you off when people laugh at its iron block? they should just stfu. so would you get a r32 then? they only go for about $15000-20000 canadian, but then you have to pay for importation. anyways i like r34s just because they are so hot looking, plus the got the '26

A guy down under just did a record 8.6sec 1/4 mile in one with street legal tires. They're one of the baddest street cars out there because somehow you can keep stuffing turbochargers and such into that little engine bay and push it from 320hp? stock up past 1000hp. That'll give about a 215 mph+ max out. And this in a thing that looks like a cheap Toyota.

Re: Nissan Skyline Talk
looks like a cheap toyota?! ouch. its nissan's all exclusive 'super sedan look. not overly flashy, and sexy as hell at the same time. a rare thing indeed. anyways all those people talk about how skylines only make 270-320 hp. we all know this is because of the japanese manufacturer agreement of 276 hp max.
new question: how much horsepower do you think the r34 would have made stock if nissan didnt use little tricks to limit it down to 276? my guess is that they probably would have shot for abut 360 hp at the crank if they could have, and still gotten fairly good mileage and great reliability

Re: Nissan Skyline Talk
i can get an r32 for around 18,000 and that includes the importing.
and they werent limited to around 276 horsepower from the factory, they already came around 330 i would say. but yeah,if nissan could have totally let loose on it , it would have been closer to 350-360.

Re: Nissan Skyline Talk
The people who gonna buy a r32 the first thing you should 'tune' is the brakes. Ounder high stress the can explode. and that's a thing you don't want to happen
Then nissan sell chips that boost the hp up to 800. (thee chips 400 600 800 hp)these chips are sold bij nissan at the back door.
And is there some info about the new skyline? i can't find nothing. the only thing i heard is that there is a v8 NA engine and a v8 turbo. ;-) but that's all. anyone more info??

If you show me a chip that will take an engine from under 300 to 800 HP I will eat the chip and the car!
I am not saying that the engines in the car are not capable, just that the talk on the boards (read - the people that own and mod these cars) suggests that even with mods, it is considered a success to pass the 300 HP level.
With $$$$$$, anything can be made fast.

i don't own such a car (i would but who don't) i heard j. Clarkson saying that nissan sells these chips. And a few months later i read it in a mag.
And i don't know if it is possible with the stock injectors and with the turbo's i only post the things i hear or see more than once.
but now you suggest to eat a car i'm going to search for such a chip ;-)))

Re: Nissan Skyline Talk
you need a chip to get up there, but a chip alone won't get you up to those numbers. injecters, fuel pres. regulator, and maybe new turbos. and how can these people think its a success to top 300 hp? are you sure they arent saying 300kW, since the skyline was only sold in metric countries..... 300kw is really impressive imo

Re: Nissan Skyline Talk
Does engine oil have fat in it? I'm trying to loose weight - a car cannot be on the diet right now.
I believe they were talking about 170Kw, but I have not been reading the board lately
http://forums.skylinesdownunder.co.nz/
I also noticed that the good one is rated at 276 HP. I am sure it no problem to get an extra 25 HP from a forced induction engine.

Re: Nissan Skyline Talk
no it's really no problem to get another 25 hp out of the engine. it really depends on the engine. Look at the percentage. 25 on 276 is less then 10% and it is on a turbocharged engine. so it is no problem
What about lossing weight? Fat in engine oil? how a bout throwing the interior out. it i gonna save ya 150 kg. That's a lot more than oil without fat!!!????

Re: Nissan Skyline Talk
The engine is RATED at 276hp. But if you took one right from the factory to the dyno it would top that no problem.
From what I have gathered on the "new skyline", it is just the Infiniti G35/Skyline R35.
Most people shit their pants and are pissed about this. (This is info gathered from other sites.)
I don't know much about any new skylines in Australia though, which is where a sweet V8 Skyline would most likely be , if there was one.
And also, they probably could make a chip for the skyline that makes about 800hp. But the turbos would burn out and the engine would run seriously lean and blow up instantly after hitting 800hp.
The best performing chips I have ever seen are for diesel trucks. They add like 250hp and like 500lb/ft torque.

Re: Nissan Skyline Talk
I have been a Nissan driver for some time now, and have done a considerable amount of research, especially on their VG30DETT engine, which produces 300rwhp stock. I imagine that the RB26DETT produces more than that. Yes, it is a damn fast car, and can make 1k+ horsepower to all four wheels, given the proper upgrades. I would agree that for the money, this is the fastest car on earth you can buy. Notice I said for the money. I have seen people who have gutted their 240SX's and made them as close to the Skyline as possible. I have even seen a RB26DETT in a 300ZX. To get a Skyline in the states, importation costs and all will run you about $85k. If I had that, I'd spend it in a hurry to get a Skyline. I'd still keep my ZX though.

800 hp chip, it is unlikly to me. but the nothing said about endurance so 800 hp for 10 min is still 800 hp
and the diesel chips for which diesel is that? Brands? Mercedes, mack, peterbilt?
And how about emisions. I know it's a dirty word. but i don't think it is possible to get 1000 hp out of a engine and still be within limtis of emisions.

Re: Nissan Skyline Talk
The diesel chips were made by Bully Dog and I think they are for Chevys or Dodges.
Most of the things people do to modify their cars arent street legal anyways, so who cares about emissions. And even if a 1000hp car did pass emissions, it would most likely be impossibly hard to drive on the street.
And to the guy who thought Skylines were the fastest car for the money, I hope you meant fastest IMPORT car for the money. Many camaros/firebirds/mustangs/cars with hemis etc. can be made to go much faster for much less.
They are great cars with great engines, but it isn't the fastest car in the world. And I guess you are talking about the R34 GTR cuz that is the only Skyline that would cost around $85,000. Even in the states you can get a legal r32 GTR for under $45,000. Don't just say Skyline when talking about price, say which Skyline.

Since when can such small engines (as far as i know dodge doesn't build freight liner engines)gain such high hp (+250)

What do you mean by that. if i lower my car it is still street legal (at least it is here) so for higher boost, bigger rims, NOS or removing the exhaust.

Yeah, they're making the R35, it's a Concept right now though
BTW, your friend is full of shit, 400mph in Fast and Furious? Yeah, right, more like 80 but they increased the FPS (Frames Per Second) using Adobe Premiere.

Wow, you are the smartest person in the world. My friend was joking about the Skyline going 400mph in The Fast and the Furious. I didn't think I had to add that because I didn't actually think people would be stupid enough to think he was serious.
But that was close to saying something intelligent.
