I'm talking about all radios, fellas. HAM, AM, FM, CB, and anything else you can think of. Personally I've heard two people having phone sex over my clock radio, and one time whilst driving through New Jersey on Easter sunday a group of pirates put on a lesbian porno naritive and broadcasted it over the FM bands.
I know there is a lot more eccentric stuff floating around our galaxy (I've heard people convinced they've heard aliens) besides sex so I want to know what the rest of you radio geeks picked up.

Coast to Coast AM with Art Bell. Turned it one once just in time to hear what was said to be a yeti. That was the most disturbing sound ever.

Nothing at all. My area is so lame that even police radio is boring.
The highlight of this week was a group of "loitering juveniles" that dispersed when the police car got near them.
Oh yeah, let's not forget the loud music and the "23-19" (which I believe is police talk for "we're out of coffee and donuts").

In our area, 23-19 would mean "On Scene", and "Returning to Station".
Anyway, the oddest thing I ever heard was a medic dispatch a few months ago. Mike, the dispatcher, is in his mid-50's, and is white as white could be. He made a priority one dispatch, and in the background, all you could hear was hardcore gangsta rap. We all had a chuckle about that one.

Back when I lived up north I used to pick up a Canadian station with some Indians or Eskimos talking their talk for hours on end...

numbers station do kinda creep me out, especially when you tune them in buried deep in static. HF radio can make some pretty creepy sounds.
One of my most memorable would be when i was listening in the 150's to some business band and paging stuff and all of a sudden some guy came on and said "We have an alarm condition at the funny farm, we have an alarm condition at the funny farm!" Have no idea what the heck that meant.
I think it's part of the appeal of radio to me. The creepy ghostlike stuff you hear. so Mysterious and cool.

^^^Sorry Halvy.
Yeah I know exactly what you mean radioman, and since I live out in the middle of nowhere it's even creepier. I desperately want to pick up something odd, but I wouldn't know where the best place to look would be. I think a number station would be interesting, where can they be found?
My father told me about picking up "white noise," but he urged me never to try it; as he said some of the things he heard may have been demonic/prophetic (and this was before that stupid movie). He was going to send the tapes to Penn State University to be investigated, but instead he burned them and told me to never try it.
But does anyone know which bands I could pick up numberstations, or anything weird for that matter? I live way out in the boonies of Pennsylvania (up in the mountains), if that makes a difference.

Wow, that's pretty creepy.
You could write a novel about it!
