How much confinement does MEKPAN need to detonate from about 10g of AP? I'm making another RPG, this one will be more powerful.

About how much MEKPAN are we talking here? I personally dont like to use bulk primarys, now I use secondaries(NC moastly) with a minimal amount of primary.

I dont think it would be too much, since MEKP is a powerful sensitizer, and with 10 grams of AP to back it up, I wouldnt think you would need much more than the 1/8 wall paper tube.

This new RPG is going to be basically a flying pipe charge. The sequence of detonations will go like this:

Mercury fulminate shotgun primer --> pen tube with pressed AP --> >200g of MEKPAN. All housed inside a 3/4' long 1.5" SCH 40 PVC pipe. I'll be standing behind a cinder block wall to launch it, of course.

As long as you have a high enough % of MEKP in your AN, that much (200g) could easily be detonated in a plastic bag.

You probably could use the Estes rocket BP, but I think it would take forever to get it out. I would make my own and then for sure test it out on a test container that is the same weight of the charge that you plan to use. Btw nice artwork, that plan looks good.

I am not sure how much BP you should use, but it looks like your charge will weigh about 240 grams or more. I dont know much about lift charges but someone else will know.

i would nto rely on primer based RPG i also am not sure of your overal weight so i am not sure if estes will do the trick... i would use Aerotecs or possibly Econo-Jet's as a engine more or less an F20-0 ... i would use some sort of electronics or fuse delays and not impac senstive explosive .. but if your gun ho on this i would look into a "Blasting Cap" Made out of Armstrongs mix with a AP primary and a NC Secondary with MEKPAN Filler ... but if you really into the RPG another idea would be to go to a gun shop and by a couple of nipples and some caps for the nipples and have it mounted in front

I have 283 grams of NH4NO3 to make into MEKPAN. How much MEKP should I add to make it able to detonate in a thin cardboard tube(much safer than SCH 40 PVC)?

roughly 28ml(I think)should do the trick but if your doutful you can always use more.
