Does anyone know where I can acquire Magnesium powder off of a web site with out having to present identification or age verification?

I believe pyrotek.org doesn't check ID. I've never tried it but my friend ordered from there, they requested his ID, he sent in his order anyways without ID, and he got his order. I think everyone else says the same thing so you can give them a try. Isn't it illegal to ship magnesium powder though unless it is some really expensive shipping method?

Edit: Not to mention he ordered 2lbs potassium perchlorate and .75lbs 600 mesh german dark aluminum at the same time. So if they shipped that without ID, then I bet they would let someone order magnesium powder.

Once again, Pyrotek does NOT require age identification to purchase chemicals, etc. Unless of course, they just started it about a week ago.

I tried to order with a money order and they said I have to call in my order, then when I called some lady asked if I was 18. I said that I was and then she said you will need to send in some identification with your order. Are you saying I should send in the payment without the I.D.?

I'm just saying that's what my friend did and it worked. It is a risk to do it so it is your choose but they seem to be reliable. I probably would give it a shot because there is no other place that I've seen sell 600-1000 mesh magnesium unless you want to import 500lbs from China.

They don't check ID if you pay with a credit card, but I guess they do if you use a money order.

It sounds like this was an isolated incident, but thought I would share it.

ive been searching alot and have been unable to find any online retailers that sell solid magnesium! (and i dont want pricey firstarter bars.) ive searched so much and its really beginnning to tick me off, afterall it is the 6th most common metal element on earth....

If anyone knows of any place that would sell it it would be an amazing help.

Watch ebay, that's the only place I can find it at reasonable quantity and price. Sometimes that guy that is selling it right now for $19.99lb, sells it for $9.99lb which is pretty cheap. Any other places that sell it online are either too expensive or you need a company to order it.

Look around junk yards. A friend bought me a 2 pound plate for 9.50 at a junk yard, and im sure you can get it a lot lower than that.

I have this metal recycling place where I live and they sell magnesium scrap for only $.30lb. Only problem is that they have no idea what purity it is, where it came from, or really anything about it, just that the people that gave it to them said it was magnesium. I bought some and it was at least mostly magnesium because I could throw chunks of it in a fire and it burned just like it should. Look for places like that in a phone book under Scrap Metal if purity isn't a problem, and since most impurities are aluminum it really shouldn't be a problem, and call them. I had to call several places before I found one that carried it.
