I've been having problems using white glue and having the glue ruin my fuses, so I thought about it for a while and I may have solved it; just run the fuse along a block of paraffin wax a few times to coat it, and the glue won't seep in anymore. Simple, but it works like a charm.

Unless you have waterproof fuses.

Well, I use waterproof Visco, and some of the time, let's say 15%, the glue must seep into the fuse, because when the salute doesn't go off I wait 1/2hr then take it home and take it apart to find that the fuse stopped burning where it touched the case, where the glue is.

Is the fuse bent up? Most of the time, if the fuse has a sharp crease in it, the fuse will go out at the crease. I have always been careful not to bend the fuse, but when I first started out with the thin fuse from bottle rockets, even without glue they still burned out.

Nah, I make sure the fuse isn't bent.

Hmm... I poured hot glue all over fuse once, waited till it dried and then lit it, and it still worked.
And im also going to paint my red fuse green (for authenticity ), and im sure it wont stop the fuse from working either.
So you must have had a crack in the fuse, or the fuse must have been bad or something.
Did you let the glue dry too?

Yeah, the glue was dry, yes the fuse was real visco (NC laquered) but it still has this problem sometimes.

Re: A trick for fuses when held in with white glue...
ya and hot glue isn't water based so the molecules are bigger and may not fit into the pores of the fuse not to mention that hot glue dries no cures about 2348753847566838465.4367 times faster than elmers dries

Is that an estimation, or is it the truth?

... I know he is talking about emlers glue... I was just saying I poured a ton of hot glue on my fuse and it still worked... whatever, I guess elmers does have smaller particles.

well it's my personal estimation but it's probably in the range of + or - 234.3497582384528342136748897236562738452378461384 65213 times off
