does any one have any plans or some one that is selling one for a decent price.. im more or less looking to build it though .. im planing on adjusting it for use on a bike .. i don't need a fairly big one but descent size ... if you have watched "Daily Planet" on discovery channel "Rocket Guy" has made a gas turbine powered engine .. and well im really into the idea at the moment ..

Well i definately recommend this site, after i found it i read the whole thing, it has more than just gas turbines, it has pulsjets and various other small things. Its the same guy that us building the low cost cruise missile. Look on the links page as well as it has many interesting sites regarding gas turbines

http://www.aardvark.co.nz/pjet/

Besides that, for the parts, car scrapyards.etc are the way to go, or if your lucky like me you will get given all the parts you need to make one by a universtiy that is scrapping an old one :-D, I have it all out in my back garden at the mo and am piecing it together.

there are no plans on there just theroys you have to buy the kits or the completed kits..

besides i was thinking more along the lines of liquid fuels such as

Jet A or

Jet B

which is a refined desieal used in helicopters such as the sikorsky (sp?) S-61 which is used for coast guard rescue in northren B.C or the sikorsky 205 which is a spot copter which looks for people on the water but doesn't have the room or equipment to pick them up ..

such fuels would be perfect .. as i have have unlimited access to them ..

If you explore the links from the site you will definately find plans for building both pulsejets and gas turbines, im confused now which one do you want, but anyway, for the pulsejets there is this:

http://www.aardvark.co.nz/pjet/pulsejetcalculator.shtml

you put in what you want thrustwise, in pounds, kilos or newtons and specify what you want the dimentions in, click the button then it brings up a labeled schematic for making a pulsejet, for the reed valves there is this:

http://www.aardvark.co.nz/pjet/valvelife.shtml

It tells you evertyhing you need to know to make your own

besides this an idiot cold build a workable pulsejet if he had read all of tha site, and warweed, i know you are intelligent so i dont know where you are having trouble

It is a little harder on the turbines, but look around the links and you will find what you are looking for.

It is worth noting that if a pulsjet/turbine works on gas, then once is up to heat it will run n almost anything that burns, so maybe if you cn start your engnes on propane then swith to your jet fuel? it might be worth preheating the fuel, maybe by running it through a coil in the exhaust of a turbine, or round the outside of a pulsejet.

I hope this helps you more than my last post, if you have more questions, please do ask

Im sorry for any typos in this post, im writing on a laptop, and the KB is very annoying

It seems the pulse-jets have to be made to quite tight tolerences if they are to work, not something an idiot can do. They are also meant to be REALLY LOUD, have good thrust:weight and very poor fuel consumption, but I think i'd prefer the whine of a turbine. I remember someone was building two large PJ's on E&W pretty recently if you care to look, there was photos plans and patents for it.
