i heard somewhere that if you put a grape in the microwave it will start on fire. can anyone confirm this?

Hey, once I found a web site about microwave pyrotechnics,and I must admit,its VERY interesting,you might want to google it up if your interested.

Yes it's true.

You need:

-a knife(kitchen knife is best)

-a grape

-a cermic plate

-a microwave



1.Cut the grape in half. 2.Place the grape flat side down on the plate and put the plate in the microwave.3.Set it for 10 seconds or so and watch the display!

This actually works, but I use a different way as described, but It prolly gives the same effect.

yes you cut the grapes in half and leave small pieace of skin attached between the two halfs then you place in the microwave and turn it on the do not catch fire but the spark and ark alot

I did this in my highschool, and people started freaking out as if it was the 2nd coming of jesus!

The funny thing was that I had the grapes on a dry paper towel, that got a huge scorch, and stank the cafeteria with a burning smell.

this thing is awsome i did this in front of my always paninicky mom she flipped her lid good. are htere any other fruits, vegitables or produce in general that can do stuff like this? i just thought of a good prank take 40 grapes slice in half but leave skin then put it the schools microwave. that would be funny.

all my grapes did was catch on fire every other second and make a zap sound.

Thats because you have to find the hot spots of the microwave...

Scroll down on the link to the part that explains how to identify where the hot-spots are located in your microwave. And Place the grape there.

At least I think thats what you do.

Please correct me if I am mistaken.
