KNO3?
I went to every f00kin' hardware store in this town and none of them carey any stump remover with KNO3 in it. Is there any thing else I could mix with black powder to make a M-80? I heard that saltpeter works but I couldn't get that ether. One place would order me a 2 pound box of KNO3 fo $50, is that an okay price? Cause I sure don't have that kind of cash. Are there any cheaper oxidiser that are easily obtained?
Peace Out,
Evil_Tree

Oh god...
Right now, i suggest you do some reserch before u start making anything.
1. Saltpetre, KNO3, Potassium Nitrate, are all the same thing.
2. 2 pounds for $50?? Where the fuck are u ordering from? I'm going to get 10 pounds for $7.
3. Try going to a big chain hardware store (home depot, lowes, B&Q, OSH, hell, even walmart) to try to get some stump remover. Just make sure its KNO3, some brands aren;t.

Re: KNO3?
You can look in the spice section in any normal supermarket..
(edit)
Sorry. From your other posts it seems that you live in the middle of a desert so...... no supermarket huh!

first off im goig to explain this to you because well you sound like and idiot in your post (no offence) and you will get greatly flamed for it
First off
As stated
Salt Peter, Salt Petre, Pottasium Nitrate, KNO3
Are All common Names for the chemical substance potassium nitrate
You do not add KNO3 to black powder
although black powder itself will work for an m-80 it is not as common as flsh powder
KNO3 is a substance to which is a part of black powder
Sulfer pottasium nitrate and charcol
are the three that make black powder but it has to be made in a special way
for pyrotechnic use KNO3 that is found in fertilizers and stumpremovers are usally purifyed via filtration and distilation folowing a milling process or alos known as a grinding method involving a rotating cylinder with usally lead or antomiy sulfide (SP?) ball bearing M-80s are usally made from Flash powder to produce more shattering effect in a couple off days i will post a comparison between depree

Re: KNO3?
Why not Ca(NO3)2 instead of KNO3?
CaO/Ca(OH)2 + 2NH4NO3 --H2O--> Ca(NO3)2 + 2NH3
(Slaked) lime + AN fertilizer...
It gets hot though, sometimes to the boiling point if mixed too fast. The good thing is that you can get both reactants in bulk, making for one large supply of Ca(NO3)2.

Re: KNO3?
Calcium nitrate isn't commonly used for anything. I don't know if it's because it's weak, a pain to work with, or what. I think it can be detonated... but if you're going to try that method of making it, you already have ammonium nitrate so it would be pointless.
