Default will this work

Hey i've got some mobsters (water dynamite) and i'm going to fill up a green bean can w/ gas then put the firecracker on the inside of the can so it isn't touching the gas and tape the fuse about halfway to the lip of the can so once the fuse burs about 1/2 way the firecracker will fall into the gas. I'm hoping for a fireball effect. does anybody have any suggestions or have u tried it b4?

Only put about an inch of gas in it or it will not disperse it into the air very well.

I wouldnt do it. Those firecrackers are pretty weak, and even though they can lift a bucket full of water 5 feet in the air, it wouldnt do much to the gas but throw it around, not vaporize and and evenly disperse in the air, like MonkeyMan said. Instead, just empty the powder from a few (or even better use some mixed black powder or flash powder) firecrackers, and make a FAE using a dry powder like coffee creamer, a much safer fuel than any flammable liquid.

A FAE is just like what you are trying to build. A small charge is lit, pushing a flammable liquid or dry powder into the air and igniting it, but the charge has to be strong enough to vaporize the liquid and evenly disperse it in the air. The heat from the charge ignites the flammable making a large fireball.

A dry powder fuel is much safer, becuase it is only flammable in an oxygen rich area, so if the charge is too weak to push it very far, it will fall to the ground unlit, unlike a flammable liquid. A liquid will usually catch fire, and fall to the ground, making a large area of land or property catch on fire.

I'm not sure if those firecrackers would even ignite the gasoline. After hearing some old people complain once about what a fire hazard firecrackers are, I decided to throw one into a pile of leaves soaked in gasoline that I needed to burn anyway, just to see for myself. Well neither the fuse or the exploding firecracker ignited the gasoline.
