Fuses
My friend and I have been bored off of our asses this summer so far, and we have been trying out a lot of the shit on the site about blowing stuff up. A lot of it is cool, but I want to move up to bigger things. I have a simple question though and I feel really dumb for asking it. When I have, lets say nitrogliserin (Spelling sucks), and all the instructions say "...put in the fuse...", does that literally mean stick the fuse in there? Or do I have to do anything else? Sorry for wasting your time.

Re: Fuses
Dont make nitroglycerine, you are way to inexperienced. Even if you did make it, the only easy way to set it off it to use a strong explosion. Flash powder might set it off, but you should use AP or MEKP instead.

Re: Fuses
Yeah I just picked nitroglycerine as an example. I'm not one of those dumb fucks that is going to go making C4 after playing with the shit for a few weeks. It's just that everyone says to put the fuse in, and I was just wondering if I had to secure it in anyway or if it will be fine by just being pushed in.

Re: Fuses
Most of the devices you will make for the time being will be in some sort of confinement, for example, an m-80 tube. you would make a hole just big enough for the fuse to fit in (make the hole before you fill it with the explosive. the hole will usually be in the side), and put the fuse through the hole. Some people prefer to put a dab of glue or epoxy to secure the fuse, but on many beginning devices, its not really necessary. The only thing i can think of that you really need epoxy for is on a Cratermaker, and i would stay away from those if i were you, at least until you get the basics down.
Well, hope that helped.
Be careful.

Re: Fuses
Nitroglycerin is a high explosive HE. You better stay away from HEs for awhile. HEs need a primary explosive to get them to detonate anyway, so you can't just light it with a fuse. I don't have time for this reply, I suggest you look through krimzonpyro.com and stick to LEs.
