Default Pipe Bomb questions

If I wanted to make a PVC pipe bomb, would I put the fuse in one of the encaps or the side of the pipe? Also, which would be louder, flash or bp? I know flash is usually louder than bp, but the bp's under pessure, so it might be louder.

You will be drilling the hole in the middle of the pipe, and as for an explosive, flash is always better unless you are going for a lift charge.

Yes drill the hole in the side BEFORE putting the powder in.And make sure you have a long fuse about 2 to 3 feet should be safe enough.Be careful with them things Ive seen and heard about things that have happened to people because of them things, and over here people have made alot of them and from personal experience they are the most dangerous things I have ever experienced. So be carefu, you have been warned.

I know to drill it in before I put the powder in; otherwise it would blow up on me, and that would suck. Also, whats the strongest flash recipe? I know they're dangerous, because a guy I know made some for the 4th last year.

You first need to get some place to host them, and as for flash use the standard 70/30, potassium perchlorate/aluminum powder recipe, and flash isn't extremely dangerous unless you handle it like a dumbass.

1. We don't use the word "bomb" on here.

2. If you use a metal or plastic casing, you'd better be way the hell away from this thing when it goes off, both metal and plastic throw some nasty shrapnel which can give you a lot of nasty cuts or in some cases kill you. If you're gonna use flash you would be much safer to use a large thick cardboard tube with some heavy duty endplugs.

3. Generally speaking, it doesn't really matter if the fuse is in the side or through the endcap. If you plan on gluing the endcaps on, I would only put the fuse through the endcap if you have WATERPROOF visco fuse. I did this once and I used visco fuse that wasn't waterproof, and the glue seeped into the fuse, wet the fuse powder inside and caused it not to burn, so several of them didn't work. You can't go wrong putting the fuse through the side, but as long as you have waterproof fuse you can put it through the endcap no problem. Like Daithai said, just remember to drill and insert the fuse BEFORE you add the powder.

4. If it's available to you, use flash. If it's not, black powder will still work fine but it should be a lot louder if you use flash.

As long as the pipe is thick, one powder will not be louder than the other, and they should be equally powerful.

Put the fuse in the middle. The explosive burns twice as fast, since the flame is going in two directions.

"Charge" sounds more like something that would be used in reference to an HE. So maybe you should say "Pipe Charge" if you're talking about a pipe containing an HE, and then use "Pipe Device" if you're talking about one that uses an LE.

The only reason I said "bomb" was because its called a "pipe bomb". Sorry, but its all I've heard it called. And a pipe CHARGE is a piece of copper pipe with the ends crimped together, it's in Zero's A-Files(I thought you all would know that?), and I am making one with just a thick cardboard tube with endplugs and duct tape. I just have to order more fuse and some Al powder and Ptassium Perchlorate. Thanks for all the help.
