Rocket
Ok, so.. I just made a rocket launcher out of a 5 foot long, 4" diam. piece of PVC pipe(I couldnt find the 6" kind). So now I have to make a rocket for it. This i find to be a problem, I made one that was just a rocket engine with 4 fins glued on to the sides and a stabilizer in the front but as soon as it came out of the barrel it just spun around.
Any suggestions for a type of rocket and/or something i could make, please let me know.

Re: Rocket
I have been thinking about this stuff latley and was thinking of how to make an affective militia rocket launcher...a model rocket engine, some container with black powder and some kind of blasting cap... maybe a few snap pops lol... anyways if you think it might work try it, oh yeah fins on the rocket, thats just common sense

Re: Rocket
A rocket engine with some fins glued to it is just a crappy rocket that probably wouldn't fly good off of a regular launch rod either. If the rocket is crappy then it will fly crappy. Personally I think you should take a small diameter tube(like 1.5") and launch bottle rocket style rockets out of it just scaled up bottle rockets.

Re: Rocket
well when i was at my launch competition and we were all pounding back a 5 gallon bubba can we took a length of pipe the smae dia. as the out dia. of a D12 engine then i drilled a hole right beside the cardboardinto the clay and i placed a bamboo scewer in it and glued it into place then i stuck the igniters in and the plug slung it over my sholder and placed the engine in the tube then i got my other drunked buddy to stand beside me and touch the igniters with a 9V battery lol needless to say we got some stable and unstable flights and almost caught some guys tent on fire ... good fun though we probally shot about 20 of em into the next feild over tryign to hit sleeping cows at 1 or 2 AM i think the smart idea would to have been have a sswitch next time instead of a drunk friend with a battery but hey whatcha going to do lol
