More bad news from UN...
I emailed UN asking when they will be getting more aluminum powder (600 mesh) and more potassium chlorate or perchlorate and heres their reply;
"Sorry, but do to several Cease and Desist orders from various state Fire
Marshals from around the U.S., we will no longer be selling materials
that
can be used to make exploding fireworks... or offering historical
information on how they were made."
I guess I will have to make my last 100 grams of flash powder last a LONG time.

That must suck for the pyro's who order from there. But why wouldn't they still sell aluminum?

Re: More bad news from UN...
Actually this isnt so bad for you icp. I recently found i site that you can get shit from w/o id. Plus they have reasonable prices (600 mesh german alum=20, 1lb potassium perclorate=8). You may be wondering, what site is this, here it is, is everyone ready? pyrohobby.com (http://www.pyrohobby.com). they have some other stuff too, plus its only 8 bucks for s/h for up to 3#. YEAH, Yeah, for all.
btw, please tell me someone saved un's, directions for everything the took off.

Re: More bad news from UN...
They just took off the instructions on making M-80s and cherry bombs. You will not have a problem finding it, since there are so many web sites that rip off their site.
Edit; Nice site bigtmoney!

Re: More bad news from UN...
Kick ass site! FINALLY, a pyro supplies site that doesn't require ID, has good prices, and doesn't have a moral agenda!
I saved UN's directions for assembling M-80s, just because I anticipated that they would probably be taken off one day. They aren't but so useful though, seeing as how EP, DTP, ICP, along with everyone else in the world in their brother has a page about how to assemble M-80s. I wish I had saved their torpedos page though, I don't remember what the mixture was, I think it was 50/50 KClO3/Antimony Sulfide.

Here is my backup:

I changed the HTML so all files are relative, and removed any problems.
XTheWhitePonyX do you have the missing images?
Anyways, I checked as many archives as I could and I cannot find the torpedo page. If anyone finds a backup or mirror, please notify.

It's not just the ID, these sites don't appear to care what you use these chems for, they just advise you that ground exploding fireworks are illegal and if you get busted it's your problem. Unlike Discount Pyro, with these people you don't have to fuck around and order shit you don't need in order to convince them you have some legitimate use in mind.
However I guess you would have to decide if it would cost you more to pay the price at pyrostuff or pyrohobby than it would to just buy the extra shit from discountpyro.

Oh well I gueess it is too bad for everyone that depends on UN I feel your pain. But for me I have all the insturction on M-80 manufacture and cherry bombs all stored in my head. For me I still have a fresh stockpile of 600mesh german dark Al powder 300grams, and I still have my trusted supplyer of KClO4. IceCold I feel your pain but I beleave all you need is a supply of KClO4. Remember I can recall you can make your own Al powder with a ball mill.
As for who's to blame I think we all the K3W1's and the irresponsible people are to blame. Just look at the the mayham they caused with fireworks on the 4th of July. Lots of irresponsible actions caused like fires, property damage, injuries etc.....
Who agrees with me?

Yeah this whole think sucks about UN, but you don't have to be totally bumbed out about it. To me their chemical supplies weren't the best plus they be mucho expensive, but their instructions were the best. Thank god for you Rat. I hope you can get more maybe about negative x, because i really wanted to make that stuff. So if anyone has that stuff post it or something. But for the chemicals i am going www.skylighter.com (http://www.skylighter.com) all the way. Even though you are only alowed to buy 1 pound german aluminum per order. They are cheap other wise. But UN really had good tubes but i got some from skylighter and they were great and they still are. I don't know if they still sell the same kind that i got from them but just get rocket tubes from them and use them for M-Whatevers.

at least the kewls wont have another site to go to to get chems, but for those of us who arnt 18 (luckly i have a nice mommy who orders and buys for me if i pay her back ) and dont have cool parents it is gonna suck for them for a while, as for me im getting 114 beefy m-80 tubes and some nichrome wire and maby some shells, i love being a caddy.
i think UN is to expensive they only got the good shells/tube, but fo all you who orderd off UN i hope you all find a cheaper site, UN is the most expensive sight iv seen.

Re: More bad news from UN...
Yeah, I make my own aluminum, but it takes 2 or 3 weeks, and for those days when I have no flash powder but I for some reason need a salute, I will just go ahead and make some with my bought aluminum.
I remember emailing UN once and they said they might stop selling most chemicals becuase they are getting way to many phonecalls from angry parents about their 5 year olds ordering from them.
I sent in a 45 dollar order to pyrohobby today, and tomorrow I will send in a 30 dollar order to UN for some more tubes.
BTW Has anyone here made a black powder salute with UNs beefy M-80 tubes? I used wood glue and sawdust end plugs (1/4 inch thick) and there was about 1 1/2 teaspoon of black powder in it, and it scared the shit out of my friend, since he thinks black powder has no use at all in salutes, but it blew up just as good as just about any flash powder salute I built before. If you havent made one.

Cannonfse.com lowered prices one their 1/8 inch fuse.
They are also getting some 9/16x 1 1/2 tubes, the same ones as the classic ones from UN. I hope they also come with plugs, but if not I will just make my own.
I hope I will not have to wait 6 months to get my stuff like some people had to with that Stanford place.

Yeah, that was definitely not cool. UN was one of the coolest sites, plus it was well put together...prices were def. not cheap, but oh well. Here's a site I found for all of your chemical needs. Actually I haven't ordered from them yet, but they claim to sell to most anyone and will sell whatever they have (or don't have, they'll get it for you) in bulk for some nice prices. I'm still waiting to hear from the guy how much iso alcohol is per gallon, since I need a lot of it for my flamethrower.
http://www.kyantec.com/catalog.htm
These are some others I've come across...most of them are well known, but I'll put them in for the heck of it, others have some chemicals, but are more Lab oriented, so if you need test tubes or anything like that, check these out:
