Games People Play Games People Play is where to discuss personal computer, video game console, and arcade hardware and software - be it RPG, Sim, Strategy, Fighting, Action/Platform, or any other category. Although discussion of modern platforms/software will most likely dominate, discussion of classic videogame/computer hardware and software is always enjoyable, and certainly welcome - ESPECIALLY since there are public domain/shareware emulators of nearly every older computer/console available these days. Here's a taste of what awaits you: Nintendo-vs-Sega-vs-Sony, Console-vs-PC-vs-Mac, Hardware spec sheets/information, Industry news and discussion, Software reviews, IRC conference announcements/Reports, Emulators, Emulators, Emulators! ... and much, much more!

I have been playing a cracked version of Halo for PC for maybe a month. They put out a new patch recently(1.07) and now it appears that the No-CD crack doesn't work. When I click the Halo icon it tells me I need to put a CD in, what should I do?

Masturbate furiously until the answer comes to you. Or you could just shut the fuck up.

There is a way to tell ur comp to create a virtual drive, in which it creates a folder in your comp that it treats as a cd or dvd drive. The information that is in that folder is recognized as being on a disc in the nonexistant drive. I'm not sure how to do this though, you should ask thechnophiles or the network security and hacking fellas.

You've got a few options:

Uninstall the patch.

Use Daemon Tools or other Virtual Drive software to mount the image.

Find a good game to play.

I'll tell you exactly how to fix this problem if you make a thread saying: "crimsonsmoke is the greatest bloke on Totse!" - I actually know what the problem is aswell. You can even delete the thread as soon as I give you the answer.

Edit: it must be in this forum!

I want Half Life 2 but with school, i'm not going to pay 55$ for a game that i will only play a little bit and never really master. I just got halo because it was free. i actually have half life 2 and counterstrike but i have no idea how to install them because they are in .bin and .cue format and some CDs dont' have cue.

As for the virtual drive, I have one, but I figured that wouldn't work except for setting the game up. I"ll give it a shot right now, thanks

Don't help the retard. I mean I know Microsoft isn't gonna miss the 20 bucks, but if he's too stupid to figure it out, then fuck em.

Oh, thank you so much. But like I said, this new patch affected the no-cd patch. Does this mean I only need to redownload it? It's kinda pathetic holding it over my head that i'm not a nerd, isn't it? And please don't say not knowing this shit somehow makes me unintelligent.

Honestly though, Halo on PC is 10x shitier than on xbox, where splitscreen and LAN play make it farily fun. Downloading the game is a huge waste of time/bandwidth.

I found Halo PC multiplayer to be alot better than on the xbox. More vehicles, more weapons, more maps and more people.

Fuck maps, vehicles, and weapons, and internet play. It's all about LAN partying with 4 TVs, 15 friends, junk food, and gallons of caffeine.

Halo is decent fun, and you'd be hard pressed to find an xbox owner without a copy. But if you can get a bunch of Timesplitters owners together for a LAN party... oh man, you'll never go back to Halo again.

Well, I don't do the LAN party thing, so that doesn't weigh in much with me. I don't even have an Xbox and won't buy one until the 360 comes out. I tried Alcohol 120 and that doesn't work. It gives me the same message about putting in the CD. Any other ideas?

Do they put out new No-CD cracks very often?
