Strange argument for the existence of the soul.
I told this guy on msn that I don't believe in the soul, and he replied "but nothing can be empty" and changed the subject.
What the hell does he mean by this? It sounds really stupid. Have you ever heard an argument like it?

Re: Strange argument for the existence of the soul.
It just doesn't make sense. Make him explain himself. I guess he believes the soul has some seat, physical or otherwise, in the body?

Re: Strange argument for the existence of the soul.
Who says nothing can be empty? Is he talking a physical emptiness or an emotional emptiness?
Is he implying that without the soul the body is 'empty'?
How can something spiritual (soul) occupy something physical (body), anyway?
It sounds to me like he gave a very vague, ambiguous response in order to sound deep, covering up his 'empty' logic.

Re: Strange argument for the existence of the soul.
Ha! That reminds me of this guy who used to frequent this forum - his moniker was Abrahim and the end-all of all his arguments was "The Soul is Reality" or "God is Reality".
Insist that he clarify his point, and then for shits and giggles - let us know what he said.

Re: Strange argument for the existence of the soul.
Makes as much sense as anything else.
Because nothing is empty.
nothing by definition is completely empty
it seems my entire philosophy revolves around entirely un-clever puns

The Nazis saw themselves in the right, and they gassed children.

Sure we could call that "evil". In our minds. As some kind of universal constant, evil does not exist. It is only a function of human conciousness. Get it?

Ya ask me, the soul is all the electrical energy contained in the human body.

Whatever happened to that poor little shit? His circular logic and mistaken simplicity was amusing.
