Can God create a rock so huge that even he can't lift it?

The question doesn't actually make sense because you are comparing Gods omnipotence against Gods omnipotence.
So what you are really asking is this:
"Is Gods power greater than Gods power?"
If God is omniscient then there is nothing greater than its power and comparing God to God doesn't make sense.

Yes. I couldn't have put it better myself. I am disappointed that atheists still use that "evidence" to try to disprove the existence of god. It has the same validity as using the explosion in a junkyard model to disprove evolution.

This forum is fucking useless. No matter how many times I explain this is a valid question people post the exact same shit the next time the thread comes up.

"Nigel: No, you've seen enough of that one. This is a top to a, you know, what we use on earth, but it's very...very special because if you can see...
Marty: Yeah...
Nigel: ...the commandments all go to eleven. Look...right across the rock slab.
Marty: Ahh...oh, I see....
Nigel: Eleven...eleven...eleven....
Marty: ..and most of these commandments go up to ten....
Nigel: Exactly.
Marty: Does that mean it's...more blessed? Is it any more blessed?
Nigel: Well, it's one more blessed, isn't it? It's not ten. You see, most...most blokes, you know, will be praying at ten. You're on ten here...all the way up...all the way up....
Marty: Yeah....
Nigel: ...all the way up. You're on ten in your bible...where can you go from there? Where?
Marty: I don't know....
Nigel: Nowhere. Exactly. What we do is if we need that extra.. push over the cliff...you know what we do?
Marty: Put it up to eleven.
Nigel: Eleven. Exactly. One more blessed.
Marty: Why don't you just make ten more holy and make ten be the top... number... and make that a little more blessed?
Nigel: These go to eleven."

Re: God and Rock
Assuming god exists, let's look at the differences between it and us.
It would be, I assume, unimaginably vast and infinitely incomprehensible to us.
Bearing that in mind my answer would be, yes, god could create a rock so heavy he couldn't lift it, but he can lift it.

I THINK NOT!
Either way, God doesn't "do" anything, he just IS.

Re: God and Rock
It's a play on words.
Let's try to be more specific.
Can god do something that limits his own powers? Yes.
Can god violate the limits he set upon himself? Yes.
I see no contradiction.

If he's God, he has infinite power. Including the power to solve a paradox. Because he's god.

Basically. He can choose to violate any rules he decides to create. I have a strong suspicion that everything is God, and in some sense, god is the rock.

I like to believe that we are all in god. That the cosmos is just god's dream. Existing because it is god. It's just human egotism that prevents us from seeing it. (But that's a bit off topic.)

Re: God and Rock
There is no paradox to solve here. The problem is the question which appears valid but really isn't.
For example: I am the most like Daz out of anyone. Does this mean that i am even more like Daz than myself?? If not how can i be the most like Daz, if so how can i be the most like Daz. It makes no sense.

Can God make a crack rock so big, even He couldn't smoke it?

Re: God and Rock
Just split it into two questions, as that single question basically contradicts itself.]
1) Can God make a rock of indiscriminate size and weight?
Yes.
2) Can he lift that rock?
Yes.
I sincerely doubt "so big he cannot lift it" is a real measurement of weight or size.
