Religion does not mean the spirit or being exists physically. It only means that the spirit, being, God, whatever, is living in your heart.

This is my conclusion after thinking about how a lot of different religions tend to have the same characteristics, yet they don't seem possible. For instance, the prospect of God. All religions have a God; one, two, 9 or 10, all religions look to a higher power, or a leader (sometimes an actual person). How do we find out which religion is TRUE?

We don't; we all have different beliefs and think they're right and everyone else in wrong, correct? Well, most people think that way. Well, the way I see it is that all religions are correct, in that it exists inside us, as a soul, a spirit, our organs and tissue, etc. We have freedom. God is you. You do not believe; you are.

It does for most. You saying that that the spirit of being doesn't physically exist contradicts your reasoning that no religion is wrong. With many religions, the belief that their God/gods actually exist is a main tenet of the religion.

The fact that someone can believe something intensely, does not make him correct. If someone believes that the Earth is flat so much that "it exists inside him", it does not change the fact that his belief is wrong.

What does that mean? You're not going to tell a Christian or a Muslim that they don't believe in God, but they are God, are you? By doing this, you are saying that some religions are wrong. They do have beliefs, and they do believe that God exists, and that associating themselves with God is blasphemy.

The Christian (most likely) believes that the Muslim is going to hell and vice-versa. Saying that everyone is correct is warm, cuddly and accepting, but it just ain't so.

Except that most religious people view God as a seperate persona who they must obey, even when they themselves do not agree with what it says.

This is how stuff like the crusades, the inquisition, the witch hunts, etc all happened. No one could question the infallible rulers they believed in, no matter how wrong it was on all humanistic and moral levels.

This is why morality based on fear and punishment (hell) or reward (heaven) is extremely dangerous, as opposed to humanistic principles like the avoidance of unnecessary harm.

Absolute morality that comes from 'above' humanity can and has been altered and mutilated to mean what leaders want them to mean in order to accomplish their various political agendas.

I agree with you that religions should be like that though.

If everyone stopped believing in Gods so high up and far away and started believing in themselves, the world would be a better place.

I don't know about wrong, but they are defiantly all bad for society. Unless you are a scammer, places of worship are a great place to find gullible people who will believe anything you tell them.

Nonsense it has helped tame hummanity.

People have morals in fear that if they don't they will suffer for eternity after life.

Religion is not wrong based on one rule that fuels every opinion into being a fact... Evidence, if theres evidence that can back up a religion then it can be proven right thus making most of the other religions wrong!

As Chris Rock said in Dogma - "It's better to have an idea than a religion because it's not that hard to change your idea but changing a religions very difficult!"

I have morals because I know the difference between right and wrong, without accepting any religions or god

Me too. But not everyone is like this, which is why religion was invented in the first place.

I beg to differ. At the highest metaphysical level, there is no such thing as "right" and "wrong"--these are merely labels we place on things which we approve or disapprove of, and those labels say more about us than that which we label. Back to topic. . . .

OP, valid point. Over the years, many people have subverted various "holy books" for their own puposes--as a friend of mine once observed, "organized religion is crowd control."

Still, God is a very large target, and all roads lead to him/her/it/them/whatever.

However, it IS easy to become dogmatic on the subject, and forget that one's own truth is not everyone's truth.

My way is only my way; it is neither the best way, nor the only way.

Religion is bad, it causes division, the sides people take divide them and then they turn to war. this world needs mroe unity. Take the jews (Israeli scum only) and the muslim palistineans. if there was no religion the jews wouldnt have made Israel and they could have lived in peace. Religion means segregation and a lack of unity.

Not to mention it was only made to try and control the populus. And to explin why bad things happened because they couldnt explin things. For example explain influenze in 4 a.d., of course gods and spirits will be blamed by the uneducated unknowing simple people back then.

Religion is in a constant state of evolution. Yes I fully agree no religion is wrong. Each spiritual faith has something in common. If not alot in common. I think alot of it is naturaly in the human brain and how it manifests depends on the environment and people of the place and time.
