I see the Christian God as a child who wants everyone to be their friend and play the game how it wants them to play it, but it’s ok, because it fucking loves you. And if you don’t buy that, it’ll throw a huge fit and use terrorism (saying ‘if you don’t do as I say, you’ll go to hell’ is terrorism) to get its own fucking way.

I’ve stated this before and no one has been able to properly refute it. If God knows all - past, present, and future - then he knows what we’re going to do before we do it; he knows every option and which one we’ll choose; therefore it is set in stone and we have no freewill. I’m not saying it is God controlling us, but in a sense it is, since he would of invented whatever it is - maybe, cause and effect - that has us in a deterministic world.

Don’t you find a God who punishes people for things they have no control over pathetic? Don’t you find a God who has the power to do away with all pain and leave only good - heaven, anyone? - disgusting? He’s allowing war, rape, murder, etc. but it’s ok that he’s doing this, because we have freewill, right? WRONG. He knew all this was going to happen when he made the world and he went ahead and did it anyway, and he didn’t change the fucking design. Doesn’t God have freewill? Either he doesn’t or he’s a sick bastard.

Then we have the problem with original sin. Ezekiel 18:20 states unequivocally that descendants are not to be punished for their parents' sins. Yet original sin punishes all descendants of Adam and Eve for something they did wrong. How fucking hypocritical!

You say God loves you unconditionally, right? But God set that fucking trap for man. Oh, yeah, he didn’t purposely leave a great big fucking tree full of evil in the garden and then go “now Adam, don’t you eat from that tree.” *wink, wink, nudge, nudge.* God is as bad as the serpent; I wouldn’t be surprised if God was the serpent.

Then there’s you fucks who understand original sin as personal guilt and sin. If Sin is of the soul, then we do not inherit it from our parents, but from God himself!

A lot of Christians tell me that God forces people to need his love. That’s fucking pathetic. A good parent raises their children to cope alone, only to ask for help in severe cases. God, however, would probably like to lock them up in a padded soul, only to come out to play with his genitals.

I have more to say on your ‘perfect’ God, but I can go on for ages and a lot of people on totse can’t seem to read more than two paragraphs.

yes.

you can't really look at god as a big parent figure on a cloud and have it make any sense.

I wish Christians, literalists especially, would get that through their head and see how ridiculous the biblical god is.

RP, it's "spoiled".

*coughs*

And funny you, the pot, calling the kettle black. Perhaps your argument will be easier to take seriously once you pick yourself up from your proverbial temper tantrum.

I'm allowed to be petty, I'm not suppose to be the fucking creator of the universe.

Great refutations by the way. Oh, and I thought you weren't talking to me. LOL.

I can't recall the last time I have seen someone spell it "spoilt". While you are correct, it's a legitimate word, I can't see the reason in spelling it in a way that no one else does...and I read a LOT of literature. Suit yourself. *shrugs*

I told you I wouldn't continue addressing your points in the Orgins thread if you couldn't bring yourself to be civil. That is all I said. I didn't say I'd never speak to you again, anywhere else, nor did I say I wouldn't start talking to you again...here, or anywhere else.

Either way, this thread sucks.

You evidently don't read the books I do, but you really don't strike me as someone who would be a William S. Burroughs or Irvine Welsh fan.

And you've yet to disprove any of my points about your God.

It's because she can refute them, but just doesn't feel like it.

True enough--the god of the Bible is a paranoid, cruel, micromanaging asshole.

The god I know is nothing like that, being all about love and creativity and free will.

By the way, you might like to know that no less an authority than Pope John Paul II has stated that there is no such place as Hell.

Burn.

The Biblical God is a brat. It even admits it when calling itself a jealous God to Moses, thereby saying that no one that follows it can also follow any other God. All mainstream religions do this however. They give their Gods human personalities and traits as if their Gods are human themselves. They call their Gods infallible, but turn around and give their God's traits that would speak otherwise.

I, myself, am a Catholic. I am to believe God is omnipotent and also believe that I must go through Baptism and Reconcilliation for attonement of my sins, yet I can give God the catch-22 by doing what it supposedly says not to do all of my life and then reconcilliate at the last minute. The same can be said for Born-Again Christians.

Just Christianity in general takes God to be this forgiving, loving entity, yet will send you to Hell if you violate its rules. Which it may forgive you for.

The Christian God is such an emo.

It kind of reminds me of that episode of the Twilight Zone where there's a little boy with the power to read minds and change reality. Everyone around him always has to think happy thoughts and do everything he wants. At the end some guy looses it and insults the boy, so the boy turns the guy into a jack-in-the-box. Reminds me of what "god" acts like.

(This is all assuming God is infact omnipotent to begin with. Or exists, for that matter.)

Who says just because he can do anything, that he necessarily does everything?

Metaphore time!!

With computer programming, the programmers are capable of making their program function in a seemingly random way. Something that's not set in stone, so to speak. The problem, though, is that while they can create a number of possible outcomes, they still control what might happen, as they create the only possible outcomes.

Now let's think of God as a programmer. Not just any programmer, though. He had this magical touch with programming. He would pull out his 30' penis and bang it on the keyboard until he made a program exactly how he wanted. He called this new program "The Universe." Now, being the creator of the fucking universe, while typing with his penis he stumbled upon a way of creating a truly random, uncontrolled outcome to events. This he then called "Free Will" and implanted into his newest creations: humans.

Then, being a computer nerd, he left The Universe program to do whatever, while he stopped caring/paying attention and started masturbating to pr0n for all eternity. He may check up on it once in a while, but really he's just somewhere else jacking off.

So... um... yeah...

I love people that instead of knowing what they're talking about but likes to talk out of their ass to spread their ignorant views that they created while they cried in their room cuz they have no friends. So, because the christian religion has a doctrine for which it would like it's people to live by makes it a whiny cry baby like religion. First off, you portrayed jesus as the christian god. Your one stupid asshole. Jesus is our savior in the christian religion, not god. The 'son' of god if you will. Give me a religion that doesn't have a doctrine to live by, and I'll show you that you can construe any religion how you like. You fail at life I would commit suicide. Because I'm sure in your mature and unwhiny religion, suicide isn't wrong. Because rules and doctrines are whiny. This would allow you to go straight to 'heaven', and since I'm sure your life sux you need to go to heaven. THE END!

Idiot, Jesus is God, look up the trinity. Now fuck off, you ignorant shit.

BTW, I'm not religious and hate all religions. I don't believe in an afterlife. And nice accusing me of being whiny, look at your own post. Nice jumping to conclusions and being a hypocrite.
