If God knew that most of his prized creation were to go to hell...why would he allow Lucifer to tempt Eve in the first place?
I mean...God should've killed Lucifer in the beginning...

Where's the fun in that? His cosmic reality show would be pretty boring if he indulged in his omnipotence. So, he lets mortals and angels thwart his "plans" all the time, secretly laughing his ass off. What a fun way to spend eternity!

Lucifer in the Hebrew bible is the name of a Babylonian King meaning Light Bearer, also translated sometimes as "Morning Star". According to the Bible The "Serpent-like" Satan tempted Eve, the first human woman to eat from the tree of knowledge, in turn Eve convinced Adam the first human man to taste of the fruit, afterwards the two became aware of their nakedness and were ashamed. God learnt of their disobedience and exiled the couple to toil on Earth and multiply. In my opinion, if I were to give an opinion as a Christian, I would say that God intended this to happen and allowed it to happen as Earth was created for the purpose to test mankind. Judaism tends to believe Satan is primarilly doing the work of God in testing mankind and tempting them to evil. Christianity believes that Satan is the enemy of God and is in open war with God and his followers. Satan wants to send as many as he can to hell. Some Christians believe Satan is the originator of All Evil, God is the originator of All Good. Judaism and Islam believe that God is the originator of both good and evil.
I personally believe that all life on Earth was intended for Earth. Anything that lives was supposed to live. Anything that dies was supposed to die. That everything has a function which interactions with everything else on levels and in details too long to list. I believe everything is within bounds of a general balance and that the system of physics and physical reality (the possibilities) can not be "broken". I also believe that rather than God testing or seeing what we do, life is for us to witness what we do. In my belief, God is the creator of all possibilities, every possible thing you can possibly think or do, if the possibility didn't exist you wouldn't be able to do it or think it.

You forget that your explanation would refute the Christian god as benevolent. If those "tests" cause needless harm and suffering, then the being who deliberately allows for those "tests" to continue is not benevolent as Christians believe he is.

I am thinking that if a god exists, then he is not what you interpret him to be. By your "logic" that would mean the possibility of your god not being that which you interpret him to be exists.
If god is reality, then how can the possibility of him not being reality exist?

It's also an interesting thing to note, I forget which (if not most) sects of Christianity actually believe Satan's punishment is to be even MORE powerful than God, except in the fact he is being punished and can't escape. What better way to punish someone, than to give them such power, but they really can't attain the one thing they wish? They have free reign over billions of people, can imbue them with his essence, and will even rise and take earth someday- but he'll never escape punishment.

Just noticed this now- the Christian's idea of a benevolent God by DEFAULT is flawed, the bible tells of many times destroying cities, populations, people, and indeed the world.

The mormon perspective on this states that the fall of man had to happen for the world to be the way it is. Read in genesis, and you will discover that before the fall Adam and Eve did not have any children. In their innocence, Adam and Eve did not know how to procreate, and did could not have sewn the seeds of the earth today.
My absolute favorite passage in the book of mormon deals with this. It is 2 nephi 15-25 ( http://scriptures.lds.org/2_ne/2/25#15 ), and it ends with verses 23-25
Quote:
quote:23:And they would have had no children, wherefore they remained in a state of innocence, having no joy for they knew no misery, doing no good for they knew no sin
24: But behold, all things have been done in the wisdom of him who knoweth all things.
25:Adam fell that men might be, and men are that they might have joy

Do with that what you will.

If god is in fact omnipotent, why would he need to rest?
