The question is meaningless. There are many "real" registered Wiccan Churches, and they are as a whole, mostly harmless, far less arrogant and fearful than Christians. Sometimes more pretentious, however.

There are also many so-called solitaries--that is, Wiccans who are not part of a coven, but Gardnerians and such often look down on them.

Wicca is a dumb religion. Anyone with half a brain should be able to make a cool pagan religion, but Wicca is dumb.

Before I was born my father practiced Wiccanism and my mother supported this until I was born. After which they decided to raise me in the temple (as they are Jewish), but they instilled in me a lot of Wiccan teachings. I understand the belief system at least and it's a very interesting thing to know. People who say it's bullshit are just ignorant.

wicca is fake, because any God that WOULD be associated with it is usually stolen from another religion (such as greek or roman paganism- which is NOT THE SAME FUCKING THING) would be too embarassed by his/her modern followers to want to have anything to do with them.

also, wicca being a new religion (it's not the world's oldest religion- wicca is a little over 50 years old), still classifies as a cult, because their core 'document of principles'- the rede- changes more often than every 20 years. hell, it changes more often than every 20 seconds, because stupid kids want to change the definition of magic (note the lack of the ambiguous 'k' at the end of that, dipshits) so that any pre-pubescent kid can be defined as a 'witch' because of a strange dream they had when they were little.

Anyone who wants to believe in Wicca is certainly granted that unalienable right. But to profess that it is the oldest religion is conjecture. Wicca was invented in the 1950's, that is loosely affiliated with the practices of the Druids.

I don't believe that a religion needs to be the first or last in order to validate it, but don't go around saying that it is the oldest religion when it is clearly one of the youngest.

When you think about it, casting magic spells is a lot like prayer. You're pettitioning a supernatural force (God, Gaea, tree spirits, whatever the fuck) to lend its influence to make something occur that wouldnt have otherwise.

Neither one actually does a damn thing but that doesnt stop people from trying.



I remember watching Jerry Springer one time (probably the only time I have in my life) and they had these wiccan girls on there. Very stereotypical mall goth type girls. They filmed one of them before the show casting a spell to make it rain. She sat there chanting for like an HOUR and nothing happened. She made up this total bullshit excuse like "well, there have to be certain conditions for it to be possible. There has to be the right air pressure and humidity and all that." Duh. That's why it rains. That's like saying "I can summon lightning bolts, but only during a lightning storm."

Anyways, I know that's not a person I should judge an entire religion by and she's just a particularly stupid example, but it was funny to watch anyways.
