I was thinking about it and i just dont get the hell part. I understand that you go to hell if you dont belive in god and worship him... so on so forth but why would he do that. Wouldnt it be smarter to put hose people in a training camp or some shit for like 3-6 weeks were they learn about christ and such. It just seems kinda stupid to condem people becuase of 1 decision.

I think Totse should be an age-restricted message board... at least make it 18+, so these posters can have at least a taste of post-pubescent experience upon which to speak.

I don't think that hell (if it even exists) is somewhere everyone will go, that is full of drugs, sex and booze, in the sense that you will be forced to do those things because society says those things are bad.

I think that hell would be different for everyone, as not everyone is the same.

Now drugs sex and booze might be some christian hippy's idea of hell, but then it's most of totse's idea of heaven.

There for it's logical to assume, that if you love drugs, sex and booze that you'd be in a hell where you have to watch everyone else doing those things, knowing you can never have them again.

It seems to me that hell was created to instill fear into non-believers or sinners. Obey God and you won't go to hell.

When everyone's young they follow their parent's religion, they can't make decisions for themselves yet. One of the first things you learn is there is heaven and hell. If you follow a life of faith and obey God you will be rewarded in the afterlife and go to heaven. If you sin you will go to hell for eternity.

Ask any little kid if he wants to go to hell and see what his response is.

So you're making the decision based on your feelings about god and not evidence or reality?

I like the Greek idea of Hell - that valley where you performed undoable tasks for eternity. It gives me a feeling of nostalgia because of dreams I used to have that reminded me of that place.

First of all, it isn't one decision, it's a lifelong decision. God said, "My spirit will not dwell with man always." That means a man will die. And when that man dies, that's when God's spirit ceases to be with him, if he doesn't accept God. All your life, He sends people across your path, to tell you about him, he pulls at your spirit to draw you near to him. The whole time you're alive God's trying to pull you back, but YOU CONTINUE TO DENY HIM, or reject him. So he does the same, not because he wants to, but because he had no choice. He wants to reveal himself to the world, but the world don't allow Him to.

Hell. There is Hell, Sheol, which is the 'grave' the place where all the dead go. In Sheol, is Ghenna, and Abraham's bosom. Ghenna is where those who didn't accept Christ go, Abraham's bosom is where those who did go. The dead in Christ (who are in Abraham's bosom) will rise when Jesus returns, then The Church. The Dead without Christ (who are in Ghenna/place of fire) will be there until the White Throne Judgement, and then they will be judged. When they are Judged God will SHOW them all of the times he's tried to call them back to Him.

Ghenna, Sheol, are both refered to as 'hell'. If you want to see which is which, Get a greek/hebrew with the translation into english.

You say you don't believe in God, but what you're saying is you don't care about God, you don't want to know Him, and all he does is LOVE you and try to show you there's a better way.
