Default Why all the natural disasters lately

Just curious as to what you guys think about this and not from an athiest pov. The last Rabbi of the Lubavitcher dynasty said that our generation is the last generation of exile and the first of redemption. Are these disasters a precurser? Why or why not?

I have a good friend who is a mormon and he says the his scripture says something about this. I am curious as to what and if it relates to my beliefs since most modern religion comes from Judaism.

I though there needed to be seven years of world peace before endtime? I think we are just unlucky now.

I have never heard that before. The redemption isn't endtime as in there is nothing else afterwards. The redemption is the coming of the Messiah who will show G-d's light in the world. The Messiah will make us as spiritually pure as Adam and Eve were before they sinned and bring us back to the Garden of Eden.

It is said in Scripture that the Messiah will come when the people are worthy or, if not, He will come, at latest, in the 6,000th year for G-d's sake (G-d said I will bring redemption for my sake). But if the Messiah comes in the 6,000th year there will be a war (Gog and Magog). If sooner, there will be no war. But certainly if the Messiah were to come no sooner than the 6,000th year (G-d forbid) there wouldn't be 7 years of peace. There would be a major war to cleanse and purify the people.

Why do you call them disasters? Do you consider Noah's flood a disaster? Have you considered that Jehovah may be trying to punish us?

Global warming is causing the increased power of hurricanes. The water is warmer, and warm water has more potential energy, so the storms are stronger. It's not an atheist position, just an intelligent one based on years of research.

Earthquakes are caused from a number of things. Read up on plate tectonic theory and neo-tectonic theory.

The plates of the earth (lithosphere that rests on the asthenosphere) are either divergent, convergent, or transform boundaries.

Earthquakes can happen from subduction, when one plate goes under another (the older, denser plate), and the pressure is released. This is a cause of tsunamis as well.

Earthquakes can happen from separation of plates (divergent boundaries), or plates rubbing against each other (strike-slip or transform boundaries).

That's a brief summary of what causes earthquakes. The only reason you hear about the natural disasters now is because people are more populous, so natural disasters in the past didn't kill anyone, and no one would hear about it even if they did cause it'd be a few cattle and a farmer. The erosion of the swamplands in Louisiana are a huge factor in why Katrina did so much damage. Social factors such as not building up seawalls to resist category 5 hurricanes (basically everything is built to withstand category 3......dumbasses) are more reasons as to why people died.

Why the disasters happen and why people died are really two separate issues.

it's because a pole shift is about to occur, and as planet x approaches earth on it's orbit the strain it causes on the earth causes many changes in weather and the atmospher up to, and after, the pole shift itself.

Disasters that are natural (natural disasters) arn't really natural at all. For example, what would of been devistated if Katrina has made landfall and New Orleans had not been there? A few trees would of fell down, some animals would of died, really nothing all the devistating would of taken place. What you have to realize is that the disaster comes from humans.

People make their own misery.

Also, there are just as many natural disasters happening this year than there has been in the past. What is happening now is defently no sign of an end of days or anything like that. Just relax.

No you fool, it's because the sun now lines up with the exact centre of the galaxy, precipitating a massive leap of consciousness into the fourth dimention, as well as geomagnetic anomaly, which will then cause the earth to orbit on the strain of it's pole shift.

Honestly, amateurs.

Ya know, I've heard people say, and I myself thought that it was God's judgement upon this earth. The word 'Katrina' means purify.

If Elijah prayed 3 1/2 years and bound the spirit that stirred up rain, and it ceased to rain until he fervently, and effectually prayed again, then NOTHING can go on on this earth, without the consent of the church. We see this all throughout the scriptures. God acts when we speak.

Ezekiel 22:30 And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.

The church are the ones to stand in the gap between the Land and God.

In Gen. When God told Abraham what he was to do with Soddom and Gomorrah, God was looking for Abraham to stand in the gap between the land and Himself. Abraham is the one who set the limit at 10, not God. Abraham knew Lot was rightoues, If Abraham would have said, "Will you spare the land for the sake of one." Of course God would have said, "Yes." Abraham was counting on Lot having his family in order. Abraham said, "Let not the Lord be mad and I will speak JUST ONCE MORE."

The hurricane isn't God's fault, it's the church's fault, yes, even mine. We didn't began to pray that the storm go away, in Jesus name, until the storm had set it's course. God said if we humble ourselves before him, he will hear us. It's time for the people of God to stand up and do what we were meant to do.

It's a storm. They happen. Get over it. People should invest more in protection from them if they're going to live where such things happen. Sea walls and more wetlands are good investments.

Religion won't do anything to fix this. You're wasting your time.

Due to a slight shift of some of the "hot spots" under the surface of the earth the frequency of hurricanes is going to increase over the next several years (at the very least). This isn't God, this is science.

Matthew 24:3 --- no hurricanes btu you get the idea:

3*While he was sitting upon the Mount of Olives, the disciples approached him privately, saying: “Tell us, When will these things be, and what will be the sign of your presence and of the conclusion of the system of things?”

4*And in answer Jesus said to them: “Look out that nobody misleads YOU; 5*for many will come on the basis of my name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will mislead many. 6*YOU are going to hear of wars and reports of wars; see that YOU are not terrified. For these things must take place, but the end is not yet.

7*“For nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be food shortages and earthquakes in one place after another. 8*All these things are a beginning of pangs of distress.
