Default Exorcism makes no sense.

If they get rid of demons and all, and the dempons don't want to get out why don't they posses the exorcist and eat his soul or something, instead of standing there and taking the abuse.

Sorry, are you an exorcist, or a demon.

Because they're priests(who are holy[i.e. protected]).....

It is bullshit but I'm talking about a loop hole in the exorcism philosophy. As in wouldn't they think of this before.

Dipshit.

Even if exorcism is real, there would be no loop hole.

Jesus Christ you're stupid.

Why would there be no loop hole

If you can't say why then there is a loop hole.

Because the Priests performing the exorcism would be blessed, which would mean that the devil could not go inside them.

Do you even know anything about exorcisms, or does your knowledge about them consist of everything you saw in the movie "The Exorcist"?

Edit: And another thing:

"Crux sancta sit mihi lux / Non draco sit mihi dux

Vade retro satana / Nunquam suade mihi vana

Sunt mala quae libas / Ipse venena bibas

"May the Holy Cross be my light / Let not the dragon lead me

Step back Satan / Never tempt me with vain things

What you offer me is evil / Drink the poison yourself."

The verse Vade retro satana was probably inspired on a phrase by Jesus to Peter in the Vulgate New Testament, Mark 8:33: vade retro me, satana ("Step back from me, Satan!"). In Catholicism, it is used to repel any possible evil thing or happening, as a "spoken amulet". The initials of this formula (VRSNSMV SMQLIVB or VRS:NSMV:SMQL:IVB) were usually engraved around crosses or Catholic religious medals featuring Saint Benedict, to whom the formula is traditionally ascribed."

Forget the movie and the Catholic BS. We prefer the term "entity release," by the way.

There is no special ritual involved, you just contact the entity and one way or another, persuade the entity to pass to the light. The entity cannot be compelled to do so.

Most of them are merely fearful and ignorant, few are malign.

Crux sancta sit mihi lux

Non draco sit mihi dux

Vade retro satana

Nunquam suade mihi vana

Sunt mala quae libas

Ipse venena bibas

It looks like it rhymes.

Look at how every two lines ended with the same

syllable.

What makes you so sure your belief system is right and the Catholics are wrong?

That's what I never understood about the loonies, they never have a good reason for believing their special way of doing their crazy little things.

Bah, I'll just chalk it up to senility.

I think it's entirely possible that the deamons do not posess the catholic priest in an attempt to make onlookers believe that the catholic priest is immune, therefore instilling belief in the catholic church, which is a wildly incorrect, apostalic church. That's also why the deamons take so long to be expelled from the afflicted's body, to make the story more compelling, therefore more told.

When jesus cast out deamons, it took him one sentance to expell the evil, and therfore if you are truly expelling deamons with the power of God, then you should be able to do it with the same expediancy.

Oh dear. So little time, so much ignorance to address. Let's just say that in general, Christianity is based on fear and denial, neither of which is very godly. Don't take my word for it, read some history.

My metaphysics are neither original nor idiosyncratic nor senile. They are pretty much shared by every highly evolved being on the planet.

Catholocism is based on fear and denial. Much of protestantism is based on fear and denial. However christianity in it's pure, original form, as well as many forms it is practiced today, is not based on fear and denial.

Yeah but Exorcist never say that they are blessed they simply say that the demons are scared shitless of them so they would rather leave. There philosophy is that demons are pansy fucks who have to hide in the bodies and not come out and controll the bodies and this makes them easy to make them get out.

Jesus christ your stupid

PS. I haven't watched the exorcist

So what did you read to get all your information on exorcism?

Or are you just talking out your ass pretending you know stuff about a subject you haven't the faintest clue about?

You guys are really bashing on Christianity here, and Christianity is just as valid as any other faith, if for some reason you have some great feeling of superiority from being an ass, then find yourself a quick way out of inteligent debate.

The idea, I believe is that evil can't stand to be in the prescence of G-d, specifically in exorcism usually Jesus, so by invoking G-d the evil is chased out. As such I really see no loophole without declaring the relegion as wrong, which one really can't do with any amount of credibility as it has been and will continue to be argued for millenia, and just shrugging it off like you don't have to justify that point of view is plain stupid.

Sort of reminds me of my grand mother, whenever I got sick she would right verses of the Quran down on paper and make me swallow them.

Agreed. I was speaking of the practice, not the theory, which is mostly ignored by 99.999 percent of "God-fearing" Christians.

Family of Catholics.

Believe me I know my shit.

Now actually give something useful and stop bagging random people for no reason.
